Are we over rated?

We seem to have been sussed again. Press us hard all over the pitch and we struggle to create anything. It was only when Wigan tired that we got in the game and this comes to point two.

We are far too reliant on the same players performing. Kompany, Zab, Silva, Nasri, Yaya and Aguero.

If they don't play or have an off day like a yaya today we struggle.

It was one of those days you get now an then

Sluggish start and paid the price with concededing

Then the kitchen sink but the ball wouldn't fall for us

On another day we would have been out of sight

But fair play to Wigan

Certainly not overrated

I think its beginning to look like City are some kind of better version of Blackburn in their big money phase.

It stated well, better than expected, and is now showing signs of coming off the rails.

I'm not saying City will slump like Blackburn did, but with Liverpool, Spurs and Everton getting better all the time, and with United probably just having a single season of difficulties I can foresee City having a struggle to get top 4 on a regular basis.

My immediate response was to look at how many posts you had - was shocked to say the least. I can only now conclude this is a Clarkie.

Even the fans at the stadium are overrated ( not talking about those who support away) keep hearing this we have a good support

today was like a museum until the last 30 min

the club should take some decisions against those who leave and those who don't come because increasing the capacity with stadium ...!!

The money has not been spent wisely with the odd exception. No closer to the Bayern's of this world than we were 3 years ago.
We have players we needed when we were moving from top 10 to top 4. We paid a lot for those players because we needed to attract them to City. We've just held onto them for too long. Our defence is atrocious.

Exactly, Bayern are Bayern, they have been established for yeas as the top team in germany. We have come from nothing basically to becoming a big team within 5 years. It's not a fair comparison, we needed some of those players for the 'in-between' phase to keep growing and building when the best players wouldn't come to us.

I agree though the summer before last when we got Nastasic etc was an absolutely atrocious time for us on transfers. We should have been getting Hazard etc and we ended up with utter tosh.

So what about PSG !! (me who is living right now in France) last year with the Joke Beckham in a 2 MD and didn't lose to Barca

the past is the past the only thing it should have been done in 2009 is to get a Director who has the contacts like PSG did with Leonardo to get the players and also not sign the players more than 3 years (something PSG with first ones to ship them easily)

Also target teams who are in a shit financial situations like it happend with Silva in Valencia and PSG did with MILAN

Anyway hope the club is going to resolve this reducing the bill by shipping the average players

it could have saved like 100 or more

What's a Clarkie?

Someone with different opinions to you?

I've watched City for 51 years now, and one enduring feature of City over those years has been underachievement given the players we've had and the money we've spent.

The club never seems to get its act together as it should. I don't know why. Nobody does.

I think there are signs of that now, but as our current owners are so rich that means our underachievement will be at a higher level than previously.

That's why I say we shouldn't take a top four spot for granted. I'm not predicting the fiascos of recent decades.
