The thing is, by the time they've conquered the art of playing out from the back and the goalkeeper setting up there attacks, City and everyone else may have adopted a completely new style of play, football evolves at a very fast pace, its all about the here n now, not 2 years down the line, give him time etc.

Thought that myself. Pep's nuance of playing from the back took time and courage for the players to accumulate to a new style, we are quite well versed in that now. It's a bit akin to leaving your hands down when you're boxing, it looks flashy but if you don't know what your doing you are leaving yourself open to an uppercut. Pep, our genius is staying with us and has already worked out such counter punches.

I agree what say about arsenal fans and their new manager, his start has been awful but I do like him.

PSG are set to sign 110m per year contract with Nike. Ours rumored 50-60 mil contract looks piss poor in comparison. The club should be aiming for more.

Why would Nike pay PSG that much? Is it all to do with them signing Neymar?
Mbappe and Neymar. Incredibly marketable players. The bizarre thing is that we're a better club than them with a better manager and better players, but somehow they have been able to transform their brand massively in recent years. This would be an off field comparison but it feels similar to the strategy that Steve Jobs employed. Like Apple products were always expensive compared to their counterparts so they started marketing it as a lifestyle brand rather than tech and their sales went through the roof. Because owning Apple products looked fashionable and hip. Similar to that, a lot of actors, rappers, celebrities have started endorsing PSG big time. I don't know, maybe Paris feels and sounds more hip in the fashion and entertainment circles.

Neymar and Mbappe play a big part, but you have to remember that they're probably the only marketable French (language) team going. Take into account the massive French diaspora globally as well as all the other French speaking countries and it really gives PSG an edge that not many teams have in terms of market appeal.

We at City not only lack that unique appeal, but have to compete with other English teams that have had years to establish a global fanbase that we're only starting to catch up with. The fact we're getting as much as we are for our deals is a sign of progress, but things like this will take time. We most likely won't be getting the biggest deals for at least another 10 years or so by which time they'll be a truly hefty batch of international gloryhunters to market our kits too.
