Any blues in Wanstead, London who can help a fellow blue out in future discussions about how we have ruined football? Gets right on my tits as all the cockney twats get involved bar the west ham boys...
Who were the clubs that demanded home teams keep all the gate receipts, instead of sharing 25% with the visiting clubs? And if not, they'd form a super league. Well alongside the rags, Liverpool & Everton, there was Arsenal & Spurs.

Which two clubs sent representatives to tell the FA that they wanted a Premier League so they could get a bigger share of Sky's money? Liverpool & Arsenal.

Which English clubs were members of the G14, who demanded more money for playing in the CL or they'd form a European Super League? The rags, Arsenal & Liverpool.

Every bit of grubby, money-grabbing blackmail to get more dosh for a few big clubs at the expense of all the others has involved Arsenal. And all of a sudden, when they lost out to Abramovich & Sheikh Mansour, they wanted a level playing field.

Well all I can say is FUCK 'EM!!!!!!
Great post! No one should ever forget who the real fuckers that ruined competition in this country are.

Yes, the ten teams who lose the Champions League Play-Off matches join the Europa League at the Group Stage.

Bloody ridiculous, if you ask me.

But then both competitions are an absolute joke.

You should have kept your head down there THFC6061. ;-) You've reminded me of something I missed.

Who were the first club to set up a holding company to get round FA rules on club governance? And the first to raise money by floating on the stock market?

For a club with so much history, their fans are remarkably good at cherry picking the bits that suit their narrative and developing collective amnesia about the bits that don't.

As mentioned above, I have no sympathy. Arsenal have been perhaps the worst offender of the footballing cartel over the last decade and now they're reaping what they've sown. In fact only United seems to be escaping the consequences of that little devil's pact, for the moment anyway.

Wenger somehow manages to get them into the CL year after year, no matter how weak his squad gets. But it'd be some feat if he manages to achieve it this year with inferior squads to Liverpool and Spurs on paper at least. Or it'd represent a monumental failure on their parts. Even Everton could be in with a shout if Fellaini and Baines aren't raided by United depending on how Martinez does, but I'm not sure they have the depth to go the distance.

The final nail for them was selling RVP to United. That was a turning point. Selling your best player to a league rival is admitting you're not in competition with them. Much like Liverpool selling Torres to us (though I wish Torres had worked out like RVP). That consigned them to the decline into mediocrity.

Tony Adams said:
I think that a significant factor, 90 per cent, in why we achieved so much is that Danny Fiszman invested £50m in the club and we were able to go to the next level. I got my first decent contract at the club, so did David Seaman, we were able to bring in Dennis Bergkamp – and that was before Arsène arrived – David Platt, Patrick Vieira, Nicolas Anelka, and were able to pay them – top players from around the world.

But apparently we are the ones ruining football with money...

EDIT: Didn't realise someone had already referenced this article. Point still remains. No club, going forward, will win the league without spending a fair wedge to do it. Wenger complains about the bigger, money rich clubs poaching his players, yet carries no sympathy to the clubs Arsenal buy their players from who sit in the tier below them. The real reason he is complaining is that Arsenal are not at the head of the table any more.

Any club that fleeces fans the way Arsenal do are what's wrong with the game.

If Arsenal fans want to pay those ticket prices more fool to them and they need to re-evaluate their priorities.

In my experience they have a set of fans who are uniquely horrible.

F*** me, these Cockneys/Arsenal fans can talk.

Talk about hypocrisy.

He wants Alisher Burkhanovich Usmanov, a Russian billionaire/Sugar Daddy to spend £200 million on players.

Wait a minute, you can't run a proper club like that?

A lot of American accents in that selection of interviews. Disproportionately so.
I guarantee that despite all the investment in our club, if ever interviews like that we're to take place in the vicinity of our ground I know what part of the world the accents would represent.
That representation and the booing at the final whistle yesterday smacks of a set of supporters who have landed at Heathrow and thought " Wow! I'm in London, I need digs, a bite to eat, and a 'soccer' club to latch onto.

Utter fucking wankers.

I can see a new bid of £40,000,005 going in for Suarez.

The Fenerbache champions league qualifier is now crucial for them, lose that and it's full blown panic. Wenger and the club have put so much emphasis on getting 4th to get that qualifier spot that they would look like fools if they got bounced out.

This was always on the cards.
Arsene Wenger sells his players and then tries to replace them with younger, cheaper players hoping they would one day become great.

The summer he sold Nasri for 25 million pounds and Fabregas for 30 million pounds, he could have bought Juan Mata for 23 million pounds. But he chose to save money and bought gervinho and chamberlain instead. Gael Clichy was replaced by Andre Santos.
The summer he sold Thierry Henry, ljungberg and Reyes, he replaced them with Eduardo.

He made profit in all these replacements but finally the chicken have come home to roost.
