You've only got to be at our level twice and there's a six point gap, and then there is the whistling wankers 'n VAR to consider. I think the Arse got away with a couple yesterday!

I’m with you, I don’t like to be one of them everyone is against us (as I don’t believe it), but I do believe the PL would be very happy with an Arsenal title win.

I think they have had a few favourable calls and would expect some more.

That said, I am comfortable that we will finish above them to the extent I was happy with their win last night (as felt Liverpool had an opportunity to get back in the title race if they beat Arsenal and then us).

Arteta knows the serious business end of football is the last two months of the season and the winter period! Also young players full of confidence will win a lot of games like yesterday they had that set back and bounced back but you can bet Arteta told them they were the better team and keep playing like that you win most games!

Arteta looks the real deal he has won trophies if he win the league in the next few years that be pretty special thing he would of done and the next Pep!

I still think too many are underestimating Arsenal for the title, and if anything it's going to do them favours like it did Leicester.

We need the media to start putting Arsenal in the title challenge bracket so they can start having pressure put on them every week to do so.

They are playing at a level above every other team in the league right now except for us, and whilst I still have us down as favourites, Arsenal right now are in with a shout.

Momentum is huge in sport and you can tell they are thriving off it.

Look at Chelsea under Tuchel when he came in..just hit a run of momentum and nothing could stop them for the Champions League.

Quality wise I don't even think they were a semi final team that year.

There is very little that can prevent a run of Arse wins other than one or two having an off-day. I think the entire football administration and the RDAHMeedya would relish a win from anybody other than us.

Sensible, but the "we'll dick them" and "walk the league" brigade won't have it.

I'm with you they play some great football. Yesterday after scoring early they fell away and Liverpool started to boss the game. After they equalised I expected them to win. Credit Arsenal though they rallied round and got back on top. They're a young side and getting better. Jesus and Zinchenko have added grit and a winning mentality too.

if we go down the conspiracy route then the premier league will need someone to take over liverpools mantle
and have a challenger to the end.
which will mean dodgy decisions in their favour bad ones in ours etc.
im not into any of that shit the gooners are top on merit thats all you can say.
its squad depth for me thats going to decide especially with possible injuries in the world cup plus when was the last time thay played over 60+ games.

I don't think they are.

They are playing well but seem to be playing at full pelt and riding on that emotion. A couple of bad results can easily knock that.

Whereas we seem to be in 3rd gear for most of the time and look if we need to up our game we can do that. I don't think Arsenal can do that at the moment.

They won't be within 10 points of us come the end of the season
I didn't say they won the title. I said they were contenders.

Unless the belief is that there are no contenders, then fine. But outside of City, I'd bet money on them over anyone else.

That's what makes them contenders.

Lots of talk already around Arsenal. Didnt't the Leicester season have four or five that were there or thereabouts before Leicester pulled away? Arsenal have been top since the first day of the season and not dropped. Pressure is already on them.

They used to do this on an annual basis a while back. Great start, still near the top round about Christmas. And just when they start getting giddy, the wheels would fall off and they’d end up battling just to finish top four.

Probably a good time to have the game with them called off though. Highly doubt they’ll be in this sort of form when it’s rearranged.

I think Arsenal understating their title chances is wise.
They are the dark horse though, no doubt. Someone other than City has to win it eventually. Everyone thought Liverpool was the most likely. Now Arsenal has as good a chance as any.

They are crackpots, remember Leicester.

Personally think the odds that Arsenal close a 24 point gap in quality in one season are quite small and highly unlikely. People say ‘remember Leicester’ but we’re talking about a 5000-1 biggest sporting upset of all time kind of incident.

Leicester also weren’t up against the greatest English team of all time. In fact, everyone was below par and the league was won with a low points total. City being at the level they are now makes something like this even less likely to occur in my view.

You never want to write someone off completely but a run of 9 games doesn’t tell you anything about a run to the title. If Arsenal are up there in late March then absolutely but right now it’s nothing more than good form going off any evidence we have at hand.

I’ve already seen comments on their forums and fans Twitter accounts about the pressure now being on City because they play first this weekend. We’re in October and they’re already thinking like that? I’d not even noticed or considered it. That sets alarm bells off for me already. City wouldn’t even be thinking about that until April if at all. It’s the sort of thing you worry about when you’re feeling the pressure or getting over excited tbh.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying City walk the league and there are no contenders. Just that Arsenal’s form in 9 games doesn’t mean they’re suddenly the number 1 contender over anyone else and that closing the gap to us over a period of months will be extremely difficult for them.

I'm old school and i don't assume anything with City, you would expect them to fall away but that's not a given and until then i'll consider them as rivals, i mean i even think that manky mob at the other end of the East Lancs aren't out of it.

Here’s one. An Arse fan on RAWK. You’d think we’re an unproven side and aren’t consistently the top scorers in the country. They’re in too deep already.

We have proven time and again that it's what happens after Christmas that matters. No club in Europe has finished better than we have in the last ten years. Pep builds everything around the title run-in. The press and opposition fans can keep sneering. We will do our talking on the pitch.

When City won the league in 2013-14 and the league table finished:
City 86
Liverpool 84
Chelsea 82

Arsenal were top of the league for 20 of the 38 weeks that season yet weren’t even in the title race come the end.
