Some good pike and some much needed peace and relaxation. Deliberately distanced myself from the football as it's been a bit too intense of late. beginning to effect my sleep pattern

I'm a fisherman. Go piking up a Loch Ken every year but have started looking at new locations as the krayfish have fucked the ecosystem there. Try to get a rod out in the canal or local reservoir every couple of weeks or so.

Didsbury Dave is a keen angler too, into carp fishing so he tells me.

Was fishing a private syndicate lake in Shropshire as a guest of my mate. £300 a year is too much for me but the other members fish for carp and the pike are generally unmolested so are aesy to catch. Been getting plenty out of the Bridgewater at Lymm over the Winter doing short dawn sessions. .
Is there a stream for these pike ?? ;0

with the chelsea result in mind .... a point does ok for us considering the start we had

need a bit of luck today with liverpool drawing ( no hope of them loosing to spuds )

After that 1st half, i'd say a point wasn't good enough but considering how poor we were 2nd half, point was fair. Time will tell as to whether thats a good point or not. The game at Anfield is massive now, we cannot afford to lose there, otherwise Liverpool will have their tails up, whereas it'll be a massive blow for us.

Thought that Demichelis was brilliant yesterday, as was Fernandinho. Dzeko and Nasri started well but faded as the game went on. Silva was outstanding in that 1st half when he had time on the ball. The sooner Sergio is back, the better. May kick Negredo into some form going into these final games. With form strikers, we have an excellent chance of winning the tight games, which there will be some - Liverpool for a start.

Simple from now on, don't lose at Liverpool.

Having sobered up this morning, I still feel like it was a defeat. I shouldn't, I know but after being one up I thought we'd go on and maybe get another and cement the 3 points. Arsenal came out very well 2nd half so fair play to them, but we should know that the first 15 mins in the 2nd half away from home are always going to be a bit of a storm and should be able to weather that - maybe I'm being harsh, I don't know.

Anyway, I should be happy with a point but I'm not. Having watched City for nearly 40 years, I guess that's a marker of just how far we've come as ordinarily I'd be buzzing with a point away to one of our graveyard sides!

not really the best result for us but a point is better than nothing..also pool chelsea and us will still lose points till the end of the season but i'm confident will be us who will have the last laugh!!!

So what I don't get is how did they get a goal kick before they scored when it was clearly a corner?

In the end I was satisfied with a point, especially with Chelsea losing. Although it wasn't a physically demanding derby last Tuesday these high-profile games can be mentally tiring and yesterday in the 2nd half we seemed not to be reacting to situations as quickly as usual. If Liverpool drop points today it'll be more of a point won than two lost.

-- Sun Mar 30, 2014 9:48 am --

Yeah, that baffled me too, I was sure no City player got a touch.

It's been a good week.

A little bit of frustration, mind, due to the Chelsea result, beforehand.

I thought Dzeko showed signs of fatigue against Arsenal.

Nasri was my player of the season up until his injury, but he has gone hiding for me in recent games. He lacked desire and energy at the Emirates.

I also thought Clichy was pretty poor, lacking intelligence and positional sense.

What has really surprised me in these last two games is the responsibility Silva has taken upon himself and moved to another level. He is demonstrating a level of tenacity and leadership I did not think he had in his locker.

We could do with a couple more of our exceptional talents taking his lead, mainly Yaya and Nasri in games like the Arsenal one.

Hopefully, the return of Aguero will see to that.

To put the Arsenal result into perspective, Liverpool failing to win today, or any time between now and the end of the season, turns our point against Arsenal into a victory.

Honestly I think Nasri and Yaya just didn't have the legs yesterday. Otherwise great post and I totally agree. BTW, just seen your messages from yesterday! :)
