Peter Bone MP claims that a £36b "divorce" settlement will not get through parliament. I expect quite a few Tory MPs would vote against it, but would the opposition parties? Especially if it paves the way to a trade deal and/or transitional deal. I could see them abstaining, but would they actually vote it down?

What do we get for our £36b? Is it our share of stuff that has already decided? Or is itan expensive cheery wave from Mac-Merk and that's it?

No, the system in the UK allows us to form a strong government and opposition to question such, using the first past the post set up.

You may laugh at "strong government" because of current circumstances but what I mean is it gives a government the platform to be strong, whilst having an opposition with enough of a stance to question it.

They system might allow for a strong government to be formed and an effective opposition but neither the former no the latter appear to put the needs of the people and the nation anywhere near the top of their agenda. It is ideology versus ideology with the tax payer copping for it every time. I think I was born cyclical and I have had cynicism heaped upon me by the shenanigans of successive governments.

The 'divorce fee' is the sum of money that we have committed to in respect of projects in the EU. if we don't pay it then the other countries would have to make up the balance, and in some cases the projects might not have gone ahead if those countries had been told they would have to pay their full share

Well vote for someone else then. That's the option you have and one in which the people of the UK can change every 5 years.

We can vote in whatever party we want. Just because your ideal party hasn't been voted in, doesn't mean the systems broke, it means people have differing opinions to yourself.

It smacks a little of 'rip-off' time. How about the rest of the EU doing without stuff if they can't afford it? I think this notion of paying for stuff that locals want but haven't a cat in hell's chances of funding is one of the reasons why many latched on to the 'Leave' camp. When we have so many 'projects' that need funds within the UK it might well be sticking in a lot of people's craws that we have to forego them whilst eastern Europe's infrastructure, and some parts of western Europe, are brought into the twentieth century, let alone the current century!

I'm not at desperation door yet re political parties but I wish the Monster Ravers would give me a chance of casting a vote for them. It seems as good a choice as any currently available.

I'll sure we will pay whatever we owe as soon as they produce an audited itemised bill which would be the sensible and legally correct way to go about things.

You're back.
In your absence you might be sad to learn that the Prince of Leavers mcfc1632 appears to have retired following the general election result.

The election must have hit him hard, you couldn't stop our resident master negotiator from posting before May's romp through the wheat fields. Still, we underestimated him, at least he had the wit to realise the game is up and to retire to a darkened room with a bottle of whisky and a loaded revolver.

And yet you constantly don't reply because you can't. You're so biased it's not even possible to reason with you.

You spent months polluting the forum with Tweets from fellow delusionals, who aren't forum members, and then couldn't respond when people called you out on it.

You can't tackle arguments so resort to drivel to distract from your inadequate debating, like you've just posted there. Even other lefties on here think you're a berk.

Life must be so frustrating for you, to live in a county and society you detest yet cannot do anything to change. What must be even more frustrating is having an opinion that you cannot even debate properly, with those that oppose it.

You're the worst poster in off topic and have been for some time.

Bollox. Genie wipes the floor with you. Much more interesting, original and not full of cliches. And i'll add that pigeon holing people as 'lefties' make you the berk.

Who the fuck is Genie?

Lol even lefties on here describe themselves as that. Surely that doesn't upset you?

I can't even say I remember you to be honest, and I've been on here since 2009.

Now now Children, we all know I'm the best poster on here - and I didn't vote for Brexit so I can just laugh at both sides for potentially ruining our lives.
