Ashes 2017/18

Said it before and will say it again. Millionaires guaranteed the cash regardless doesn’t help to motivate the players these days and the only thoughts on some minds is what deal can my agent get for the next IPL or Big Bash.

No problem with making money if you are doing the business but this England side and set up is a complete shambles and no more contracts should be issued.

Pay as you play and you play if you are good enough.

Why the fuck do I stay awake all night to watch this shite??, right joe root, you and your team owe me a full ashes series of sleep, at least try and make a fight of this last test match

The more they make a fight of it the worse it gets. We might make a recovery with the next couple of wickets and then the mandatory England collapse will follow!

I think we would do appreciably better if the England football team took up cricket and the England cricket team went to Russia for the World Cup.

There's not many in that England side who get chosen for the IPL. The one who earns over £2 million for 6 weeks work is currently out of the set up. And he puts more effort in when he's not assaulting people than the rest of the team.

We are on the verge of being thumped 4-0 by a team that includes Bancroft, the Marsh brothers, Khawaja and Paine. Whilst it’s perhaps too soon to judge Bancroft, the others had never proven themselves to be anything more than mediocre in this form of the game.

Even though Stokes was obviously a huge loss, it’s still disconcerting how poor we have been in his absence. I’m struggling to think of any positives from a dismal tour. Maybe Malan? Our batting has been dreadful and England’s bowlers were rather toothless for the majority of the series.

I think it’s clear that Cook, Anderson and possibly even Broad are coming to the end of their careers.

We need to take some risks on young quicks who are close to hitting 90mph. It’s a shame about Mills but there must be some more exciting options than Curran, Plunkett, Ball etc.

What happened to Roland-Jones and Wood from Durham?

That’s one of our main problems over there is we don’t have a bowler who can consistently bowl 90mph also loyalty to players won’t change because they do the business at home like all the tests sides mainly do.

And there lies one of the big problems with test cricket just now, home teams preparing wickets that increasingly suit home bowlers. Why not try going back to uncovered wickets for a period to see if that evens things up a little.

On a side note, I'm fed up with seeing James Vince getting out slashing at a ball wide of off-stump, surely Ramprakash should have been earning his keep and had this flaw sorted before now?

And there lies another problem Ramprakash!

Why should we change our home wickets if the other countries don’t it will mean we get dicked home and away

Can we use the excuse there are too many foreigners in top county cricket , stalling development of our talented world class youth as we do in football ?
Just asking cos don't really watch cricket. Even though we failed in every World Cup before foreign players....

I remember vividly Ramprakash getting out for 20/30 every innings in his early test career. Hardly a role model
