Aston Villa (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

Absolutely gash, his form has fallen off a cliff. Start Bobb now over him, can't do any worse
Alvarez like Haaland are NOT foitballers..instinct finisher is Alvarez and a headless chicken..keep going on, but Kane oooh for Kane literally 10 x the player Haaland will ever be. We scored more in 5 of the 6 years before Haaland arrived. This focus has msde us a poorer team
We won the treble but honestly. We would have without Haaland. Stars showed this to be the case.

It's great seeing us shit again. Hopefully lose some glory supporters.

This season reminds me of 19/20, where we dropped off massively after our best ever season at the time. Same again, Liverpool came back a wounded animal, this time the Arsenal have. Arsenal and Liverpool title race this year, they are 2 best teams.

Our only hope is win 4 or 5 in a row now and get Kevin back. Erling hasn't looked interested in ages, his body language stinks.

What a lot of cock

The summer window was poor in hindsight. Two more midfielders signed that Pep simply doesn’t trust. What was the point?
Loads were saying it before the season started. Losing mahrez and gundo also was seen as a mistake. Didn’t need hindsight to see the players we where bringing in are a level below those who have left.

We’ve been blessed with some creative players in the middle of the park over the last decade. Silva, Toure, De Bruyne, Gundogan. We haven’t got anything like that anymore to add a bit of craft in the midfield. It’s a bit of a task to find any players of that calibre, you have to wonder how long they spent chasing Bellingham before panicking to what we have now.
And Rice

Aye, and Brighton only 5 behind ! Newcastle could be one behind if they win their game in hand tomorrow, which they probably will against Everton, and we'll probably be level with a depleted Spuds by tomorrow evening too.
But being so close to the swamp dwellers is genuinely depressing as fuck considering how utterly shit they've been. That one does hurt.
Hopefully after the next 3 or 4 games normality will be resumed if you check who we play and who they play

Expected. We build our game based on Rodri, which is logical because the guy never gets injured, so I don't think is a flaw of our system. Despite being an awful match, I don't think is useful to get any conclusions in a Rodri-less City at the hardest away match in PL right now.

I feel there is gonna be tremendous overreaction here, so I just want to give some facts:

- Last season we were very fragile defensively before mid-January.
- We were 8/9 points behind Arsenal.
- Arsenal and Liverpool haven't played between them, so being 6 points behind is not true at all.
- From the next 11 fixtures, the only difficult one is Newcastle away (maybe Brentford away would be the second hardest). Perfect time to build a run and to reintegrate KDB to our team.

I understand the people who are worried (although I am pretty relaxed), but let's not overreact that much.
2 shots for and 22 against. You can't put that down to one or two players missing. We could genuinely have lost 4 or 5-0 tonight.
