Must be the heat! Certainly some oddness yep. What's going on tonight??? Someone slipping on the long jump board and hurting themselves and now 2 buggies carrying athletes crash into each other on the way into the stadium! Shambolic
She’s so good, shame McLaughlin wasn’t there as that would have been a brilliant race. Proper happy for Bol though after that 4x400 face plant. Hats off to Matt Hudson as well, great achievement.Femke Bol is a class apart, made that look easy.
love this video. marathon speed:
I saw Karsten Warholm in full flow around the first bend in London 2017 and it was a sight to behold - astounding speed and athleticismMany years ago I was doing a charity 10k at which Steve Cram, who was coming to the very end of his career, was the celebrity 'guest' runner. To all intents and purposes Cram was treating the event as a bit of light jogging for charity and didn't at any point break into a sweat. At the time I was running half marathons on a regular basis and was in decent physical shape so I decided to see how long I could keep pace with him; the answer was not very long at all :-) It is a real eye opener when you have the opportunity to see elite athletes close up.
I jumped up out of my chair:)Wow that was brilliant, was shouting at the telly in that last 50m. Great stuff.
Yep, agreed she deserved it. Tbh when she came up against McLaughlin last time it was women against girls wasn’t it, so it’s good she gets her time in the limelight. She’s so good, shame McLaughlin wasn’t there as that would have been a brilliant race. Yeah that was quite dangerous seeing them slip like that, surely a bad injury waiting to happen.Yep, agreed she deserved it. Tbh when she came up against McLaughlin last time it was women against girls wasn’t it, so it’s good she gets her time in the limelight.
On a different note, they need to restore something like plasticine to the foul strip on the board - that hard shiny plastic is a massive injury risk isn’t it?!!
The Great Manchester Run was preceded for a few years by a women only 5 mile run, you would have maybe a dozen or so men running alongside the women but they would be in fancy dress and it was mor to give the women confidence for those who were attempting that kind of distance. I had just started running then in those days. The Irish runner Sonia O’Sullivan was coming to the end of her career and took part, if my memory serves me well on at least two occasions. I remember being quite excited that I was entering a run where a famous runner was in and I was joking with all my family that, I would have a sprint to the finish line if I get near her. I did see her, as it was, as I had not long got going, she was coming through the finish line:)Many years ago I was doing a charity 10k at which Steve Cram, who was coming to the very end of his career, was the celebrity 'guest' runner.
