Hopefully in the new North stand will have additional self service beer dispensers like this to help speed up service pre match and HT which in recent years is woefully slow which is why never usually bother getting a drink anymore:

Give fans who live in Manchester/Greater Manchester first priority for new safe standing seats. Relocate the Family stand away from safe standing section.

Large numbers of loyal match going blues on the fylde coast, second and third generation expat Mancs as am i. Afraid as a FOC im an armchair fan these days but would hate for younger blues in the north fylde to miss out.

Much cheaper for the cup match the week after.
Correct. When I started going to Maine Road cup games were the same price as league games and this continued through the 70s, 80s and 90s. However league match prices increased dramatically once the PL became the main driver in English football and the cups lost their shine to a degree.
I'm lucky enough to be able to afford a season ticket and would stump up double without my FOC discount, but I'd probably think twice if I was having to spend £60+ for individual PL games.

I’ve had the misfortune to be in Liverpool when they’re at home and you just don’t hear Scouse accents in red shirts. There’s a contingent over from Ireland and lots of people weren’t even speaking English.

Is it not a little ironic that someone called Cheadle Hulme is pushing for Manchester post codes? I’m assuming you’re SK something? Stockport City, pal. CH43 and proud.

I’m not going to start naming names but I think of one Blue based in Norfolk and another in Swindon who are home and away everywhere. They bleed Blue. They lose out so Scally Dave from Collyhurst gets in?

I’m not pushing for postcodes though. I just said that’s what other clubs do. it is ‘Manchester’ City though and local kids and families, for instance, should have access to attend games. If we ever need postcode tickets that means they’ve been priced out. The above post did actually mention greater Manchester as well.

I could say it’s a bit ironic someone called Mcfc Wirral talking about Liverpool home games and mocking mancs ;) lots of my family are from Manchester, but like most city fans we all moved next door to Stockport!

If prices are affordable it’s a non issue as everyone could go. There should always be a strong presence of locals and general city fans who love the club.

I get what you are saying about local fans. We as a club are very proud of our manc roots ( am 63 lived down saff since the age of 5 but I still class myself as a manc )

But to start to alienate 1000's of match going City fans from all over the country because they haven't a Manchester postcode is bonkers. We are the fans who are hit harder than locals with the cost of attending and the time on the road.!

Also dont forget alot of us without manc post code were also the fans coming regularly when we were shit. Seems really unfair to say thanks for all your support and money when we were shit but now that we a great you can fuck off !!.
I'm sure you dont mean it as blunt as I put it, but i dont think City as a club and a fan base should start discriminating as fans without a manc post code or a manc accent ;)

I haven’t once put the club should use postcodes, alienate fans or have sections just for locals. It was actually a poster above that suggested it and started this conversation. I was just saying that Liverpool do use postcodes for a small number of tickets and that locals should always have access - I don’t think that’s controversial.

My lad checks weekly for tickets but its fast reaching the point that attending the Etihad is financial beyond us. Over 60quid a ticket for Sheffield no disrespect to Sheffield but how do City come up with that price ?

£120 tickets
£70 fuel
£40 beer n food.
£10 parking

That's £240 !

We would normally do 10 or more home games but not anymore :(
We try for away games down south but they are like rocking horse shit.
There are often spares that go for around £40. Just don't buy them from the official site. Transfering tickets is easier than ever now.

You could do it cheaper if you really wanted to as well. If you are driving, then £40 on beer and food seems excessive. You could pack food and a couple of cans/other drinks.

I reckon you could go for:

£80 tickets
£70 fuel
£10 food/drinks
£10 parking

Still far from a cheap hobby though!

Liverpool also trialled a system that 'The Spirit of Shankly' group pushed for...

Local fans (who live within a 5-minute walk of the stadium) can register to be put on a reserve list. If another supporter hasn't attended the game ~15/20 minutes after kick-off, these locals can go in instead (so the seat is filled).

I think they had a few teething issues with it, but the idea has its merits.

You got me intrigued now for what it costs us (me and four kids with season tickets)

Tickets £1250/19 = £66
Fuel - £80
Food and drink £30 (KFC on the way home, don’t buy anything in or around the ground)
Parking - £10

So £184 a home game. Times 19 that’s £3496 a season for league games. Throw in 4/5 cup games too…

Best hope my wife never reads this.
