Atmosphere 2024/25

3pm Saturday home games, always the same. Vast majority of people just want to watch a football game, react to the action on the pitch, have a couple of pints and they don't want to sing songs or chant. Just the way it is, every ground is the same, Liverpool desperately pushing for a goal at Anfield, and you could hear the players shouting.
No big deal, it's ok to watch football without singing. On the big nights the atmosphere takes care of itself.
In Germany, France and Italy you have whole sections with little interest in the football. They just chant and perform all game, we don't have that, thankfully. At Bayren there are muppets waving huge flags all game, blocking the view of the football, regardless of the action on the pitch.
Can't think of any absolutely thumping atmosphere at any Saturday 3pm game, and that's actually fine.
Isn’t that largely because no big games take place at 3pm on Saturday because TV move them all and so we’re left with pretty humdrum fixtures which are never gonna generate a great atmosphere barring a remarkable set of circumstances in the game.

It probably is. Brentford at home is never going to be a good atmosphere. Their fans hardly sung at all and our performance was poor.

Strange as the Brentford fans at their home make a racket in a small tight ground.
And talking about lack of away fans generating an atmosphere
With the name Millwall in your username.
Do you remember the season when after the trouble at the den and Maine road 98/99 season I think . Both sets of away fans were banned at each others grounds the next time we played each other.
Well there was a right racket at Maine Road when we played Millwall even tho none of there fans were present. Enjoyed that match

Average today atmosphere wise.
Sack the stadium announcer I can't stand his erling skit especially when it's Brentford at home keep it for the big games
Hate it whoever it's a against.
I know I'll get stick for this but the guy who used to do the announcements at Liverpool was quality.
Read the team, announce the scorer, STFU!!!!

Sound analysis and conclusions
Chatting to some fans the driver behind this seems to be crtisism form other teams fans, the media printed tv radio, the biggest culprits blue moan and other on line forums.
Why some city lack the self confidence to say it's got nothing to do with go away is a mystery.
People enjoy and express themselves in many forms.
Do we really want to end up like some Kafkaesque Busby Berkley fan show?

This!

A loud, forced ‘atmosphere’ during a comfortable win against inferior opposition is fake as anything. An atmosphere comes from genuine tension about a result and consequences of not getting it and as you say, takes care of itself.

Do we need the away fans to create an atmosphere? Even when they bring large allocations it usually doesn’t make any difference either, unless it’s a big game.

Thought it was decent today, but as always we need a proper home end
You’re never going to have a proper home end when the ones who proclaim themselves as the ‘singers’ only want to be either side of wherever the away fans are.

It's not just us who questions atmospheres....I was on twitter yesterday and was reading a post from a Liverpool fan moaning about the state of the Kop yesterday. No atmosphere in anfield and empty seats. Bemoaning the tourists who sit there and film. Also said his ticket was £56 but the tourist guy sitting next to him had paid £355!

Yeah but to be fair the £355 package included 12 bricks and a lifetime supply of candles.

Kick off to 35 mins - a fairly subdued start, a few songs here and there, mostly from 110-111. A bit of noise around our goals.

35 mins (after a couple of minutes singing after going 2-1 up) to 62 minutes - total silence in every part of the stadium apart from a chunk of about 200 people in 110-111 and that one Brentford fan who kept wolf whistling. There was a bit of noise from NSL1 when Gvardiol and Rodri got up to warm up.

Around 62 mins, 110-111 started singing a few songs, took the piss out of SSL1 who’d forgotten they were at a football match because they hadn’t sung since the Haaland second goal on 32 mins.

Then it was alright to the end of the game with songs coming from 110-111, SSL1, SSL3 and NSL1.

Strange start to the season from SSL1 though considering it’s the official ‘Singing Section’. Only feels like they’ve sung when 110-111 have taken the piss out of them for not singing.
