I agree, but they don’t really have anything to celebrate do they
Most non city fans will tell you our atmosphere is the worst from every big team in the country. City fans say it’s because of huge amount of “tourists” or local fans being “priced out of games” , like how? when most of the other top teams have more “tourist” fans than we do, and secondly the bigger point when it comes to local fans being priced out so that’s why it’s quiet at the etihad, the Madrid game in 2023 was maybe the most expensive ticket I’ve seen for a European game, but that was literally the best atmosphere we’ve ever had. The truth is, the lack of atmosphere at the ground, is not ONLY about the prices, or the out of town fans, its the lack of passion for City by a big majority of our fans, compared to the passion that Liverpool or Newcastle fans have for their club. For them it’s life or death, they’re crazy for their team, for a lot of City fans in the stadium, we don’t really have that type obsession. (Of course we have INCREDIBLE away fans that are mad for it). I remember last season, the last 10 games of the season were average, we were literally still on for a second treble, and atmosphere was poor except the west game game on last day. Sadly, it’s the culture of the club, some City fans were happier to hear Oasis are back together, than when we won the league last season.
