Atmosphere at Eastlands

Lots of decent points raised and good ideas but all wasted when the current layout of away fans continues.

how about playing this blue moon before a match, last one at maine road i think it would get the crowd going

Just a quick point on the safe standing issue.

It's already happening all over the country and at most grounds. But it isn't safe standing as fans are standing infront of seats, that are knee high.

It's about time the Government and the PL held their hands up and acknowledged that fans are standing again of thier own free will at football matches and can't be stopped.

Why not make it official policy once more and allow each club to make one stand or one lower section/tier of a stand safe standing. Where is the problem with that?

Made this point earlier in thread on previous page and on a few other threads.
At last someone else has noticed that we are paying top dollar for seats that we don,t use -and no one stops us standing up so the safety angle is proved to be a load of bollocks.
sit in silence at home ,have a party away-why can,t those who want to party at every match do so?
wages in this country are not going up anytime soon in these post- recession years. if clubs think they can steadily increase the price of seating year on year, without lobbying the goverment to bring back safe standing areas at lower prices, there are gonna be a lot of clubs in for a big shock- and the greedy cunts who didn,t do anything about it and kept fleecing the fans will be the first to start bleating wheh their grounds are emptythen they can,t pay thier tax bill and want a stay of execution..i for one won,t shed any tears for them as they fold. clubs need to do somthing about it now.

talking about atmosphere in germany:

it is standing
it is beer
and it is organized fan groups.

as you may imagine, you can´t do things like that without such groups

and there is at every club a guy with a megaphone or a drum leading the atmosphere, as you hear in this vid.

I remember copenhagen doing a display like the top 1 when we played them at there place, there flag was a lion holding a little mouse with a city shirt on, it looked awesome.

It is possible to do in england, if they moved the away fans and made that a massive blue singing section, everyone in that section got charged an extra £5 quid on top of there season ticket, that would create a fund of £29,000 for fans to buy massive flags, put on displays like that, bannas, scarfs.

most of this stuff is paid by the fans. (especially ultra groups do their own merchandising)

This is my first post on Bluemoon, but I have been following the forum for a couple of months and I have been a City fan for years. But this issue has really motivated me to get involved, as I think it's something that really needs addressing.

I been reading this thread and an point I think Jrb made about bring standing back in terraces, which I think would really improve the atmosphere at COMs if it could have the whole of the South Stand as a safe standing section. The FSF and Don Foster (Lim Dem) put forward the Safe Standing Bill to parliament in Dec 2010, but it needs as much support as it can get from MPs and football supports.

Have a look at this link to the FSF about the issue, and how you can get involved. I have already emailed my MP asking for his support on the matter.
