Atmosphere at Eastlands

Just need an Ultras Etho's.. We've seen it with the likes of Poznan, and we'll probably see it tonight..

Don't for one minute think this is just a problem at City virtually every ground every ground is sterile unfortunately and putting a few cringey banners like Chelsea eg Ireland is superman isn't going to improve things. Don't forget this is what the government want ie the Taylor report. The main problems are

A, Football is to expensive for a lot of people thesedays and that's why you don't see big groups of youngish lads that's why football grounds look like a cinema audience.

B, Reserved seating, there's around 20 of us who meet up before the game boozing together and basically having a good time but when we get in the ground we're all split up in all 4 corners. In the standing days we'd all be together and that's how songs start.

C, if you do happen to get a bit too excited the "führer" Peter Fletcher is likely to take a dim view of things and take your card off you and impose a ban which has happened to numerous people

They don't have to pay £30/£40 for a ticket and have standing sections and not reserved seating sections like us as I said later on in the post!!

There was a game at Maine Road that I always have in mind when the idea of MR v COMS is discussed.

It was against Villa, the Kippax seemed about 3/4 full at best. The rest of the ground was similarly full (or empty if you prefer).

City were dire, the rain was pouring and the crowd was almost deathly quiet.

If I remember correctly it was a Gordon Cowans goal for Villa that depressed me most, I think it was 1989.

In essence the atmosphere, for whatever reason never even got started. It was flat from before the game and throughout.

Yet the massive Kippax was available, there was no family stand as such and he local pubs had greased the vocal chords of anyone who wanted that at reasonable prices.

And still the atmos was shite.

We had our Branch flag up on Sunday second tier family stand. It was overhanging by 18 inches below and we were told to take it down by stewards.
Yet at the other end Notts county had three of similar size draped over all game. Also my son East level 2 was told to take down a small flag because it was covering adverts

its only moved when people complain and if its covering adverts its only obvious it will be moved
The flag was not obstructing any view though

no offence but the club needs to discuss all this with US, the fans, and not piddling representatives who think they speak for the majority.
Spot on. As a fan I don't recall electing anyone to speak on my behalf?

Same here , spent a bloody fortune over £300 to have a 20ft x 10 ft flag made which i unfurled on the second tier of the east stand against County , Within seconds surrounded by stewards saying its covering up ads , and also that its too big and might obscure the view of people in the tier below !! Club need to get a grip ! Didnt see notts county or away fans having their flags moved etc ! They want us to show our support and then they clamp down on us , some things have never changed at City. Are they going to do it to aris fans tonight ........... dont think so
