Atmosphere today/moving seats

One thing to remember. 1894 sourced the people for the new block themselves. They pushed for the block when the club were dragging their feet a bit and had to do it through the media in the end. They also sat everyone together with their mates. If someone wanted top middle or bottom of 114 or 115. If they wanted front row or 3 rows from the back they got it and 1894 gave the layout of who sits with who to the club. One reason why it worked from the word go. Less people having to get to know each other as you might have in other blocks.

Also even 5 years ago at early meetings with the club there was a meeting and 2 of the present 1894 were there and highlighted the roof as being a problem. So a number of years of pushing and pushing has resulted in this end result

Not knocking anything the 1894 lads have done, they've done a great job but i don't really see the connection between the atmosphere and having to get to know the new people around you. I moved to 114 separate from the group, didn't know the people around me at the start of the match but me and everybody around me was singing constantly and i was even talking to the guys infront before the end and was hugging the guy stood next to me when we scored all 3 goals. Everybody that's moved to 114-115 is there to sing they're not the type that need to be comfortable with the people around them or for somebody else to join in first before they do, we've got all the loud, somewhat annoying bastards together that just want to sing and it's going to be brilliant in there all season.

Whilst the atmosphere was great it has still away to go to match the Hamburg game. That night the noise was from every area of the ground not just one end and side. Even us CB level 3ers joined in.

And the North Stand lol!

Every attack against Hamburg was roared on. When Caicedo thought he had scored the noise level went through the roof. Brought back memories of my younger days when leaving Maine Road with no voice.

What a fantastic view, atmosphere and stand.Really enjoyed it on Sunday, the noise was deafening and reminded me of the old days of the Kippax.
The roof definitely helps to make this sound heard up there. It helped that it was such a major opposition, however from before the first whistle there
was a real buzz and it felt like most of the stand were singing, and you didn't feel it was wrong thing to do.Some good groups of young lads in 315 and all over the 3rd tier and it bodes well for the future if it can remain this lively,it reminded me of Wembley a bit being so high and the atmosphere.
Legroom is excellent, there are no interferences from stewards asking you to sit down,it felt brilliant just to be there and soak it all in.Of course the performance and result always helps, but for once we felt like proper supporters cheering our team on to victory. Can't wait for the Watford match now.As a 53 year old thought my singing days were over, but took me back to my youth supporting City that did.Ticker tape welcome looked awesome from the stand too.

Oh forgot to mention big thanks to 1894 group who have made a big contribution to getting the stand set up as it is.Much appreciated.

Yeah just on that great you settled in. There's a few individuals in that block but also groups of 21 23 and 18 etc who all wanted to stay together. The bigger groups are mainly at the back of 114-115 as people often feel more comfortable singing together.

Main thing is its up and running and 1894 are in constant communication with the ones who moved through them before each home game to let them know whats planned

Probably won't match Sunday's atmosphere all season. First game, biggest game, only game that we don't expect to win and new stand.
The challenge is to get vocally behind the boys in the games we're expected to win and some patience is needed in breaking the opposition down.
There needs to be an attitude change to our support. We're there to support them not them to cheer up our days.

I disagree, we will get similar in the Champions League and against United.

Although I agree with your second point about the easier games - hopefully we keep this going throughout the season!

Sunday was quite an easy game ;)

The great thing about what 1894 have done is that it's something other clubs' fans are desperate to do - getting people who want to sing together and allowing mates to move en masse.

Feels like we can really start to make the ground our home now.
