Atmosphere tonight

Season ticket holder on the the cup schemes.

Fininshed early from work yesterday to go to match coz works traffic mid week turns a 3/4 quarter hour journey into 2 hours.

Took two mates instead of my wife and daughter who could not take time off work.

Mates neutral fans tourists if you like but if they didnt come there would have been another two empty seats.

Dont give tourists stick coz if they werent there there would lots more empty seats.

Re atmosphere I sing with the best of them but last night must admit I was abit muted.

Why should I shout and scream first to gee up the players when you have the likes of Toure and Clichy on the money they are on playing totally shit!!

Shouldnt it be the other way round as I am giving up my time and money to be entertained by these guys!!!

Nearly didnt bother this year with Champions League Cup coz of cost time and nights like this especially as last year I wanted to go to Barca and couldnt get a ticket although I was on the scheme.

Although I would like us to do well in Europe I would always put winning domestic cups and premiership first cos I just cant see us actually winning the Champs league with the players and manager we have got.

Well, tickets for the CSKA game are £25 so that should test your theory out.

Well its not quite as appealing a game against CSKA , especially after that performance last night, so not quite the same!

You shot yourself down pretty quickly there! ;-)

Genuine question, how much were tickets last night?

supercity is right.

shit competition that our fans feel is a circus and only their for the benefit of the cartel.

however. the atmosphere would come if we progress.

The best atmosphere ever at the stadium is in my opinion the Hamburg quarter final. Amazing.

Almost as good as oasis.

£35 adults in most of the stadium, £40 in East L2 and CB L2.

Eventually the club will realise that pricing IS the main issue.
If the games are priced correctly then it becomes more available for the less affluent fans. The people who were their during the dark days.
I feel so sorry for fans who want to go but can't afford to go now.

pricing is not an issue for the moscow game with starting at £25 which is more than reasonable

Its not just about any one game being reasonably priced. Its the need for all Match day Tickets and all Season Tickets to be reasonably priced.

Some people can just afford a Season ticket but then cannot afford Home cup games on top including the Champs League, even if they may be priced OK.

If the average cost of every game was no more than £ 20 for adults and say £ 15 for 18--21 year olds and £ 10 for 18 and under or 65 and over then there would most likely be close to capacity for all games.

Is it not that the very high wage bill of players and ridiculous transfer fees for players means that even the incredible TV money clubs get, has not been sufficient to cover a clubs operating costs, and thus this has meant them trying to squeeze more out of every supporter. Any club where 50% or more of its income goes on players wages will always struggle with its finances and will look to get out every last penny from its supporters, which in the end will be self defeating as it simply will price more people out of supporting their club.

It may sound like an excuse but its the truth, most local fans who make the noise who appreciate these nights aren't there because they've been priced out. I've been there since the dark days with Royle I always sing and get behind the team in 111,but I've unfortunately been priced out of European games. Only just clinging on to my season ticket, probably won't be able to hold on to it much longer if it increases again. Then again some day tripper with an ipad will take it and probably buy all the shit from the club shop, so happy days eh city? I guarantee if tickets were 20£ last night it would have been full and have been a great atmosphere

£25 for most adult tickets (Only level 2 in the East and CB stands are more expensive) for what is shaping up to be a crucial Champions League match versus £15-£20 for FA Cup games against Championship opposition? Personally, and with no disrespect to our domestic opposition teams that we've faced in the FA Cup in recent seasons, I know which is the more appealing game to me. Yet all those FA Cup games (bar the Blackburn replay last season) against Watford (twice), Leeds, and Barnsley were sell-outs. Which in itself is great because it proves that the numbers are there but I also think that if the CSKA game doesn't sell out then some of our fans may be prioritising the wrong games given the small price differential. I will add that it isn't quite as simple as that - those FA Cup games were all played at the weekend which made it far easier for adults to take young kids with them compared to midweek night matches but I still feel there is a curious apathy amongst some of our fans towards UEFA's flagship competition.

Putting prices aside and spiraling costs for supporters to support their clubs.

Yes for City we will can get a great atmosphere if we get out of the Group stages and progress further and really get into the heart of the competition.

As yet we have only 1 game in a knockout stage in the Champions League and that was Barcelona, whose tempo or lack of it and keep ball play, helped dull the atmosphere after the fans started off in good voice.

Are you talking in genral or at City because I can guarantee you our season tickets are fantastic value for money.
It is the Match day pricing which is totally bizarre.
My s.ticket is £600..over the course of the season this equates to just over £30 per game..
Lets look at the reccent games for matchday pricing...at least 20-25 notes more...I would be pretty pissed if I didnt have a season ticket. Obviously you pay a premium but it shouldnt be to that level...There needs to be a balance and it isnt there
