Atmosphere tonight

It was shocking, we scored and barely anyone even cheered. Even at 1-1 when we were trying to go for it, there were no chants of come on city. All I heard where the Roma fans. Something has gotta be done ie fans groups meet up or something

Oh yes there was. Row E 323! We made a right fuckin' nuisance of ourselves.

The sooner we crowbar the away fans from some of the best seats in the ground and shove them as far away from the pitch as possible the better. Are there any grounds, PL, Championship, CL where City fans get to go behind one of the goals. Put all the away fans in the spot they have at The Etihad and they will drown out most offerings from the home fans. The noisy, singing City fans are spread all over the show!

One simple solution to this is the introduction of safe standing.

None of that dangerous standing though.
And cheaper prices, it's only going to get worse, more and more in this forum myself included are disillusioned with the CL and general price increases, if we can watch it on TV and save ourselves £100 or more then we are going to do it. It's a vicious circle, we want success but at what cost, I pray when this tier goes up they put a halt on price increases, but FFP will probably stop that as well. Just hope we don't go the United way and demand you have to be in the schemes to have a seasoncard.

I absolutely agree.

This time though we were surrounded by day trippers that were tourists - probably Roma fans because they were not cheering or saying too much during the game...

Kolarov commented in the programme about the lack of atmosphere and the need for the fans to get behind the team because of how much it helps them. The biggest roar of the night from us lot was when 5 minutes extra time was announced !!
The club have not learned a single lesson about the champions league. All the away games, the away fans are stuffed up in the gods - just wait to you go to roma - 80,000 screaming italians and we will be gasping for air where we will be. when we go to 60,000 seats, the atmosphere will be non existent.
We should rename the stadium TUMBLEWEED TOWERS…………...

I am in hospital, just had heart bypass operation.

Managed to get the City game on my Ipad tonight.

Really shocked by the atmosphere , it was shit ,,

If it means we now get plastic fans sitting in seats when its a champions league game , then please fuck right off , no noise, no support for the guys, please , please fuck off. All I could hear was 2000 roma fans

Gutted, drugged, but gutted .

I thought our fans did as best they could.

Also you do know the TV company are in charge of the mike volume.

Get well soon I've had 18months of ill health 2 major operations it's shit and I wish you a speedy recovery!!

Let's be honest. When less than 50-100 people can be bothered singing in the singing sections, blocks 111/110/109(with a 1500 capacity), and there's little or no support from the rest of the stadium, we might as well give up.

When you witness Roma's support, 1000+ getting behind their team constantly, it really brings it home how poor and pathetic our support is in comparison.

I don't know how it came across on the TV, but there was a group of about 20 people trying in vain to get the atmosphere going in blocks 111/110/109 this evening. Apart from 10-15 minutes of "when the blues go marching in", in the first half, which sounded decent inside the stadium, there wasn't much else in the way of constant support. Just sporadic chants and mostly silence.

TBH we've been over this topic on numerous occasions since we moved to the Etihad, and bar the odd big game, as a club, and as a set of fans, our support hasn't got any better. Many say it's got worse.

In my opinion. The 1894 Group are trying to improve the atmosphere, with little or no success, as the majority of fans aren't buying into it. As for the club. They might offer a limited amount of support, but in reality it isn't high up on the must do list.

At least the atmosphere should be decent for the visit of Spurs and United.

Eh?

I go all over this country watching City. I've been over Europe watching City.
if I want to moan about why I didn't go tonight because of the daytripping cinema like experience, I'll fucking moan.

I'm not spending £35 on top of my season ticket or whatever the fuck it is to sit there with my hands under my backside bored out of my mind sat beside some randomer.

and if I stand up to cheer I get these cunts taking pics of me celebrating.... I mean WTF?

No Chumps League for me thanks. waste your hard earned.

Just because you don't go to the game doesn't mean you can't have an opinion on it. I couldn't afford it tonight but I thought the atmosphere sounded bad.

Good description

The ground was full of irregulars tonight. Good they turned out, but I think that affects the atmosphere. When the singing section starts a song off, it usually gets taken up by the fans around me, but they weren't there tonight
