Atmosphere tonight

oh as for this opinion of - you should go to the game, or you don't have an opinion.

So someone who goes to one game a season has more of an opinion than someone who may go to 40+ games a season, home and away.

I knew what the atmosphere was like tonight before the match even started because I've been to many Chumps league matches at our stadium, which is why I no longer go to them as the matchday experience is shit and not for me.

We urgently need a singing section, safe standing included.

it would be even better if everyone boycotted this matches - it might then give the business men at city a kick up the ass and they might just then start listening to fans rather than these pathetic shitty surveys on city-voice.

For a few years now we've cried out for a singing section. we want to improve atmosphere. we want cheaper tickets.

Will the club oblige?

if they can make a few quid out of it only then will they listen.

I'll voice my opinion on this club as much as I want.
Empty seats make for a bad atmosphere. It's up to the fans who go to get behind the team. The singing section tries but no one joins in. Few did tonight anyway. Might change with the layout of the new stands.

I don't normally do European nights, I normally can't get off work but tonight was an exception. There are just far too many day-trippers, most who aren't even British never mind from Manchester. We were trying honest to God

Embarrassed to be a blue tonight.

Regarding our atmosphere we have become a laughing stock. Even where I'am in 111 was poor tonight. We had to resort to the blues go marching song to lift the atmosphere which was good for a ten minute spell before half time before and then it just fell flat again second half. I' am seriously getting disillusioned with the matchday experience these days. Its like most fans have just come to admire our great team in its pomp and forgot how to support the team.

Our fans only make noise to moan and only stand up at half time.

I didn't think it was as bad as most are saying, lots around us trying to join in. The tempo for some of the songs seems to have changed so it's hard to keep up. We were surrounded by a few school groups who enjoyed the game, but weren't necessarily blues, which didn't help either!!

What's nationality got to do with it?

The players are most foreigners, but they've given us the best team we have ever seen. The owners are foreign. Perhaps you want Swales back?

I think most of those who turned up tonight weren't regulars, but the vast majority will have been Mancs as it's a night game.

It's a good job someone took the place of the missing season ticket holders. Unrealistic to expect them to make the same noise. Perhaps in 2 year time they'll be the new supporters who are filling the new stands. We've got to get the support from somewhere

On that particular match, yes, obviously.

So is it literally just a case of price? I always think back to the Hamburg game at home, Europa Quarter Final (or was it still UEFA Cup then?). Was it simply a combination of being the latter stages of a competition combined with tickets for £5? Is this what made the atmosphere 'electric'?

Like Kolorav said in a recent programme and even the legend himself Shaun Goater on the radio tonight, they both state how much of a lift the fans can give the players. Is it asking too much to help our boys over the line when struggling just because it's Stoke and and it cost £50?

Agreed, the clubs has the perfect opportunity to do something about this in the summer.

They handle the expansion correctly and who knows we may be able to recreate an atmosphere like we had at Hull for every home game!
