Atmosphere yesterday

Ridiculous how many leave early

If anyone arrived late (plenty did... see below) or left for the concourse early today, they would have missed all 3 of City's goals.

All 3?

Did you leave early, perchance?

3 of 4. :)

And no, but I could have gone asleep on my row of seats at the end because everyone to my right had joined in the fire drill.

Half empty today, do people buy tickets and not turn up? Site said it was a sell out.

Crowd was announced at 47000 so that is tickets sold including ST. Clearly a lot of ST holders don't go and don't sell/give their ticket away.

As I've said before, my ticket has been free a few times and I've not had any takers. Maybe it's the same for others.

Don't really care about the morons who get defensive and claim they leave early because they have a great life to get back to, they're an embarrassment to the club.

The atmosphere is almost always flat. Sometimes it's absolutely shit. It's rarely good but it can be good so it is within us somewhere even though the style of our stadium is fucking garbage and the set-up we've created in the stadium is even worse for creating an atmosphere. The atmosphere is almost never great. You can count on one hand how many special atmospheres we've had at this stadium.

The sad thing is, the way the stadium is being developed nothing is going to change in terms of the style of stadium it will be and the lack of a proper stand for vocal fans, and the set-up of it seems like it will continue to be completely fucking wrong.

We will never have a good atmosphere if we have two little efforts that are almost a joke in their size set aside for vocal fans like we have. I'm not sure they even total 3000 put together. I put a list up a little while ago where over fifty clubs have larger vocal sections than we do and we have the fifth largest stadium and the fourth largest average attendance in the whole country; yet we're not in the top fifty for size of vocal stands. It's pitiful what's set aside for vocal fans at our stadium, pitiful!

But let's not just blame the stadium here. The lack of effort from many many of our fans to create an atmosphere is blatantly apparent. I don't care anymore if I offend people with this; a huge percentage of our support is shit (in atmosphere terms, as I know people will come out with stuff like "I've been here or there" "I've spent xxx amount following City" "I have xxx amount of Loyalty Points").

There is nothing worse than slagging off fellow City supporters. imo.
That's what people on here should be ashamed of. Not the fucking atmosphere on TV.

Atmosphere was crap in the ground as well pal.

Got in just in time for kick off. Left 5 mins AFTER the whistle. Funny when their fans went mental after the Nasri goal was shown on the screen at the end.

Good to see the Saints lad getting a round of applause as he was stretchered off. I rememember their fans jeering when Sergio was carried off last season.

I always sing at away games hardly ever sing at home. Simple reason is people around be sing away and I'm happy to join in.
At home no one in my block or even the blocks either side make any effort to stand or sing and admittedly I ain't extrovert enough to stand up amongst 200 soulless bodies and get a song going and I expect that applies to a huge number of people.
I'm literally unrecognisable from away games to home games and that probably applies to a lot of people.
I don't know what the answer is but agree it's poor at home but the price of success seems to be sterile atmospheres

@ Moomba and Prestonibbo. Allright boys ;)
I wasnt trying to slag off fellow Blues and like i said ive never joined in an atmosphere thread before, but after around 1000 City matches and the best football weve ever seen, i just cant understand the lack of vocal support. Today i watched on tv and it was about 30 Saints fans to 12 City. They had the best of the 1st half and we should have been really getting behind the boys in this title run-in. The cameras showed the stands, what defence can you have when they ask you why people are stood with arms folded, in silence. We played well 2nd half and got a thoroughly deserved win, so not fussed, was just having an opinion on what i saw.

I don't have a defense. If people want to stand in silence with arms folded thats exactly what they should do.
