I am suggesting we make sure prison is not a training ground for them.What are you suggesting? Don't send them to prison. We have to have a zero tolerance approach to extremism. Longer sentences and big brother monitoring. I am not going to post today because I will get banned. I am sick to death of the pc brigade.
I am suggesting you don't send someone to prison for being a family member of a nut, if on the other hand they aided and abetted a crime then they should go to prison and do the time for the crime they aided and abetted. I don't object to harsh sentences for murderers and their supporters but I do object to someone being punished for their blood

Brevik killed nearly as many in the name of the white man, the right and Christianity do we punish them for that. We need in many ways do what Thatcher wanted to do for the IRA strip them of nationalism and Catholicism and make them what they are which is murderers. No offence mate, but I wish it was that easy! Firstly to combat extremism you have to try to understand it. There's a great book 'talking to terrorists' which is a detailed account by Jonathan Powell that explores intricately how complex issues with terrorism are and highlights a lot of effort that goes into a peaceful solution. Law and order and military action, statistically only brings peace in about 7 percent of cases. Now if you look at how long it took to broker peace with the IRA, who, ignoring their methods, have way more legitimacy in my mind than Isis. Which in turn, unfortunately, makes it even harder to combat. However the real evil out of the situation with Isis is if their ideology spreads to the disenfranchised Muslim youth in Europe. If that happens then we will have real problems! Targeting family members and friends of terrorists or supporters of terror will only make the situation ten times worse and play into the hands of Isis and the like.
So what is this the answer? Honestly I don't know. We have to strike at the heart of Isis but we also have to change our foreign policy because since 9/11 the world is a more dangerous place and we (the west) have to take some responsibility for the mess created.
Going forward it's imperative we educate young Muslims in this country and we make them feel part of Britain, a Britain the majority have been born into.

What I would argue is you don't attack a religion of hundreds of millions be it Catholicism, Islam or Baptist because a tiny minority of members twist the ideology and use it to kill. You have to show up the murderers for what they are murderers.
