The western goverments have to take a serious look at themselves over the actions since 9/11.
That disgusting attack on the trade towers opened up this so called war on terror, however i don't recall a real problem with Islamic terrorism prior to that event.
In hindsight the goverments would have been better served going through the goverments to go after Bin Laden, admittedly this would be very hard to do and may be ultimatly unsuccessful but we have now created a split in cultures that i don't believe can ever be healed.
I have to admit that i am hoping that this isn't linked to Isis but i feel i will be disappointed.
Who is being hysterical, in your opinion? This is a pretty serious incident, isn't it? Not saying it will happen here but there's only a few miles of the English Channel between the two countries. And because the twats are going after soft targets, it doesn't take that much planning. This is what people fail to understand. Islam isn't like Catholicism or CofE, where there's an undisputed head. and even in those religions, there are different strands (e.g. Opus Dei, Jesuits, etc.) There are a number of different Islamic sects, mainly Shia and Sunni but there are other smaller ones. Within those top level sects, there are different belief sets (e.g. the Wahhabist movement, which is a belief set in Sunni Islam). Islam & Judaism are largely based on individual communities and places of worship. There's no one who speaks for these with a single voice.Apologies for my over simplistic perhaps naive view.
But where are the heads of the Islamic faith condoning this violenders and these militants?? I'm not just talking about Paris given its still unfolding, I meant in general.

I keep seeing calls for " boots on the ground " FFS !! As well as "where"? The question has to be what boots? The Army is being decimated - Osborne wants it below 50,000 by 2019 to save money. If you consider the numbers already on deployment or committed - how many in for refit - how many on leave etc - we are gonna be lucky to be able to field a full team if we challenge ISIS to a game of fucking rugby.
