Attendances

Was never the real record crowd. That would have been Liverpool due to the added seats put in since the Chelsea game.

From what I've seen on Twitter a few of our more fair weather fans didn't go because of the rain.
becouse of rain ? they better get use to being housebound then as it is only gonna get worse

Definition of attendance :
The number of people present at a place or event
Never seen the definition of attendance being :
The number of people who considered going - even to the point of having a valid ticket, but in the end went shopping with the missus instead
Still, that's the beauty of the English language - definition of words are always changing

The Premier League rules require clubs to report the number of tickets issued, even if those are complimentary tickets. That's their definition and all PL clubs have to abide by it.

True PB, but there's still something slightly farcical about the record attendance being announced for a game when there were demonstrably less people present than for any other PL match at the Etihad this season!

Yep like all clubs do announce tickets sold.

I'm sick of reading hearing when they announce the attendance "no way the attendance is 54k" It's TICKETS sold they not going to announce 51k are here today 3k can't be arsed and the away club only bought the bottoms tier.
My one and only point was that I would inagine there were probably games when it actually looked like there were more people in the ground than yesterday, such as Chelsea and Liverpool

I know a fair few regulars that go home away and abroad every week that either sold their ticket or just didn't bother turning up on boxing day for one reason or another. Boxing day always used to be a game everybody wanted to attend.

It took us 3 hours from York, it normally takes about 11/2 hours, some people I know couldn't go due to floods and housing issues. I'm sure there were plenty of people in the same boat, pardon the pun!!!
