Attendances

Yesterday saw the club take the next step up, its as simple as that.

Incredible atmosphere.

At the stadium the announcer said the attendance and said it was a record attendance at the Etihad Stadium but it's only a record attendance at this stadium for City; Ricky Hatton got 56337 in 2008 and Oasis got 59000 in 2005.
Always one...

I wasn't at the Hamburg game which by all accounts was the best atmosphere at the ground for many. How did yesterday compare? I can honestly say i haven't enjoyed a game in terms of atmosphere like yesterday since standing on the Kippax. There were no real lulls in singling, the noise made my hairs stand on end and didnt sit in my seat once. Loved it and if thats a sign of things to come it will be a very different place from now on.

Spot on. I was fortunate to be in South Stand level 2 yesterday and loved the atmosphere, day, new stand, result etc., but the key thing is that the new stand helps City move up another level. Congrats to all those involved in its design, rapid build and opening. Now hurry up and do the opposite end - build it they will come!

Its defining and completely reshaping the club and its image, worldwide.

North stand expansion will again take it to another level.

Have to say well done to the guys in the 1894 Group for all the work they've put in.

The South Stand lower tier looked absolutely superb and the atmosphere was fantastic.

I agree. Well done to all. The extra effort put in, plus the new stand reflecting the noise better, has the effect of making the other parts of the ground feel like part of one stadium, rather than in the past, when it sounds like a bunch of people a mile away murmuring about something.

Now the sound travels round the ground, it feels much more like something everyone can join in. I really hope that they use the same kind of roof on future builds.

Felt chuffed to fuck that I was part of the record crowd.
And then I thought to myself.....55000 people watching us.
Wow.
It actually made me feel slightly emotional.
Where we are today i never envisaged.
3007 v Mansfield in 98.
55,000 v Chelsea in 2015.
It all seemed to come together yesterday, the fans turned up and so did the team.
This season is going to be special.
