Great job to have though isn't it. 5 year deal couple of million quid a year sacked after 8 months walk away with 10m for doing fuck all. Managers will be queing up for this job. Ideal for 'arry'.

Do they still get paid if their contract is terminated? Surely there is a 'cooling off period' or something? Say, x upfront now, Y when you complete first season or something...?
No, they get their contract paid up. Are you new to football?

I don't think Di Matteo will give them the new manager boost, I wouldn't worry.

The players haven't been putting a shift in because they wanted rid of the manager. RA could have appointed Mickey Mouse as his short term replacement and there would have been a vast improvement in their performance.

I reckon some of the senior players are well in with Abramovich and ultimately this was the cause of AVB downfall and will be every other managers downfall at Chelsea so long as they are around
I hope they are fucking proud of themselves
That's contrary to what seems to be coming out. Looks like every big player bar Torres who Abramovich is unwilling to admit is a mistake is going to be shipped off and it may not be to destinations of their liking.

Yes and I bet JT is kicking himself for turning his nose up at coming to City, Bwa ha ha ha I'm so glad he did.

BREAKING: Chelsea sack Roberto Di Matteo: 'He's yet to earn us a point and we are no closer to Champions League qualification'

Re: AVB sacked. (Merged)

Terrible decision to get rid. No matter who they have to come in he has to get rid of the old dead wood in that team. I would of said Gus Poyet for the remainer of the season he has done well or even Rafa but to leave it to Di Matteo is a big ask. They need to get in a top manager and Roman needs to give him time to sort that mess out. Apart from Raffa I cant see any of the top managers going to them. Look at what they did to Ancelotti and now AVB what top manager is going to want to go there. Jose isnt stupid and it would take hugh money to get him back to Chelsea I know he loved his time at the club but I just cant see him going back while Roman is there. Only chance of that happening is if he gets full control and Roman stays out of his way. Which I cant see happening.

Re: Chelsea sack AVB - new manager syndrome!

Well they won't exactly be experiencing a new manager feeling because Di Matteo has only been named manager until end of season. Can't see him staying beyond that even if they do finish in the champions league spots.
