its the players fault, old run down players like lampard got him sacked, they need to replace all of them and buy some young players

I hope that Chelsea don't finish 4th this season. The so called professionals at that club deserve to be playing Europa League football.

I'm not sure whether to blame the owner or the players, both seem to be at fault. The old players have been the downfall of too many managers at Chelsea and so Roman looks to have made a change by bringing in someone new who can build a new squad. Then he does what he did before, letting the players poison the new guy and then Roman fires them. AVB was clearly going to need more than 8 months, why not let him have another season to actually change things up.

I hope they approach a big time manager with a job offer and he publically says how shit the Chelsea job is and he'll never go there. Would be wonderful to hear.

I commend AVB for actually standing up to the player power at the club, sadly player power has just been strengthened yet again by this development.

I hope they do have player power at Chelski...that means that they have no player discipline. A team without discipline cannot succeed.

I kind of agree. A win % in all competitions under 50%, any big job in the world where CL is vital and you're supposed to be challenging for the league it is unacceptable. It is a win or be eaten world.

AVB's 3yr contract was worth £14m. On top of that, Chelski spent £28m paying off Ancelotti and Porto. Thus his 39-game reign cost over £1m a match........

Indeed. So now it's down to the next manager to get rid of these players when he arrives (or get sacked in the process). The one saving grace for us is that they'll not get the usual 'bounce' that comes with a new appointment. But a bad day for Chelsea.
