Away tickets

@Eccles Blue
See above they are definitely trying to sell them.

It reminds me of when I got a couple of Jean Michelle Jared tickets delivered in error. I managed to track down the rightful owners (as there was a similarly addressed road nearby). By coincidence I used to go drinking with the couple whose tickets they were. I would have had some questions to answer if I had pitched up for the gig in their seats and they appeared with reprints.

Every person that defends supporters clubs getting tickets does so because they have a vested interest in it, they either get tickets themselves or get them for friends that way. I dont blame them personally for it, they want to look after their own interests and the majority of people would do the same in their situation. Everybody else sees it for what it is, a means for people to get extra tickets to dish out to mates and help them skip the orderly queue formed by the loyalty points method. It's wrong, there's absolutely no credible reason for it to happen and should have been stopped decades ago when we reached the age of the Internet and mobile phones which virtually made the purpose of a supporters club obsolete. If somebody has a genuine credible reason for supporters clubs getting away tickets I'd be more than open to hearing it. The favoured argument from defenders of supporters clubs is to simply shift the blame to corporate/players/staff/sponsors etc, all of which are equally as to blame and are a huge problem too but it doesn't absolve them just because they only get 1 or 2 tickets they shouldn't have now instead of 4 or 5

I can vouch for this too. He seems to be always helping people out with tickets as spares come up and when people let him down or mess him about he isn't put off and doesn't hesitate to help others out for the next game.
I remember the rest of us enjoying a drink near the beach in Barcelona while he pissed about walking the length of the prom and back trying to find a spain based blue he had sorted out a spare for. (Turned out he was in a bar round the corner but the effort was there! )

Surely the biggest issue is the amount of away tickets ending up in the hands of NON city fans, and that is what should be challenged above anything else. I'm sure there will be a discussion about supporter club allocations too which is fair enough but getting so angry about supporters clubs when at least they are blues unlike a lot of those who end up with tickets for away games, is a bit like how it works in politics with people in the same position (we are all blues after all) attacking each other rather than focusing on those who are unfairly jumping the queue in a far more outrageous fashion.

Wasn't going to bother commenting again as I think this is going round in circles now tbh but thought I'd stick my oar in one more time!

Now to go watch the game! Come on City

I would defend supporters clubs getting an allocation. I belong to one that the club use as a go to branch for the shitty away league cup games that we sometimes struggle to sell occasionally early in the season.
My personal “loyalty” points are not that high despite watching city away for most of the eighties and nineties. Unfortunately I had three young kids when the points system kicked in and also refusing to pay platinum meant I soon dropped off the radar for getting tickets for away games.
Thankfully through my branch I still get to go to some now but rightly there is still a pecking order within the branch.
The overall system though does need looking at by the club.
I am old school. I would still have a few tickets on sale at the office first come first served. I remember the days of getting to Maine rd at about 5 in the morning thinking I would be one of the first there , only to find 500 people already waiting in the queue . And then seeing the look on the faces of the people who turned up at 8 am

Thanks Dan. I think Kippax Bill is in the Stretford and Urmston Branch and his SC Branch have sent 4 tickets by mistake. Like PB said, those tickets will
probably be cancelled and the intended recipients will get reprinted. Cheers
Around 200 miles out, but that's not the point here.

The SC originally asked for 8 tickets for this game, and were told they would get 2. Some of the others made their own arrangements or cancelled the trip.

On Thursday morning, the branch secretary was emailed to ask if he still wanted the other tickets. He replied saying no.

Yesterday morning 4 more tickets arrived, which were not asked for. The SC would have been liable to pay for them, even though it was City that fked up, hence them trying to sell them on, to limit the club's losses. 3 were sold. What would have happened if the secretary had made a weekend of it, and was already in Wales? It was an absolute joke.

I’m sure there were good reasons like you say but your Branch shot yourselves in the foot with the initial tweet and follow up comments.
