Away tickets

2609 votes actually and the split was as follows:

Happy with the changes - 37%
Unhappy with the changes - 33%
Not bothered/unsure - 30%

Those percentages show that there is a clear split in opinion, and it would be interesting to see the ages of the people who voted and how they voted. For example, I'm sure plenty of 18-25 year olds would be "happy with the changes", and who can blame them? I know I would be if I was in that age category, but how does a 26 year old with 17000 points feel?

I think its misleading as well because we are arguing over different issues. I support a 5% allocation for under 25s but I supported a ballot not a free for all and we were also told that 5% would come from ALL allocations not just the general supporters allocation.

The other issue is then obviously what is happening with the points system. Two separate issues completely and maybe each one deserves its own thread.

I think to further complicate things the size of the corporate and OSC allocations are worth debating too

I think the rule is that around half the allocation can be taken on sale or return basis but if you take the full amount you have to pay for the rest whether sold or not.

That was several years ago - now you can order exact blocks which vary by in number by ground. So if a block is 20 x 30 you get to choose 600, 1200, 1800, 2400 or 3000.

If you pick 3000 you need to sell 2701 an you won't be penalised. Same if you take a smaller amount, you just need to sell half the block. A lot of clubs won't enforce this rule and let you have the lot sale or return.

100% a Saturday game mate I stopped over your right about being two up typical city time, I remember they walked us out across the pitch. there weren't many there pity you didn't get points I'd have some points total now. : )

I was mixing it up with the league cup game the following year. I did both and must have merged them in my head.

Of course people want to go to the big away games... how is it fair though that thousands of loyal city fans will never be able to go to say united or Liverpool away literally because they were born later

Plenty of die hard blues can’t go to the shitty games on a wedneday night for all sorts of reasons - kids, money, work. It doesn’t make you less of a fan.

Even if you did start going to the unfashionable away games as you say it would take years to even get close. And you’d have to hope fans on 20,000 points stopped going or selling their tickets on

Ian cheesmans videos are a perfect example of that - it’s the same people for all the big games

They get junior pull through and it was not impossible to build up points at a cheaper rate - There will still be 50k wanting to go to united away whatever the system, that's why loyalty points were brought in. Same old faces an Newcastle, Watford and short notice Everton away midweek, the ones making the effort.

You are right about Cheeseman, he should not get a ticket, and most fans would avoid him, just a select few go for that thing - probably from supporters clubs :)

You couldn't be backing up my points more if you tried - you are like many who don't want to put the graft in to get yourself up the ladder because of the "shitty games on a wednesday night" but you want to go to Old Trafford.

As someone against these changes I apologise if sometimes the way we write about this comes across as personal abuse, it's just that those who think these changes are great have no idea the sacrifices we've been through over the years to get to where we are. It's such an emotive subject because if you are in the higher points bracket you have essentially dedicated your life to following City - and as I've said much earlier in the thread, do not get that mixed up with thinking that we believe we're "better" fans or "bigger blues", we all love the club and I sometimes wish I was someone who could just pop into the local and watch an away game on the telly with his mates, but we're wired up differently - not better or bigger - differently.

As I've said, I could just have an I'm alright Jack attitude about this because I will not be caught on my points and I know that if I wanted to I could go to every away game this season. But the points system is important. It is not a closed shop. All games do not sell out at high points. And those of us on high points are not all over 50. It is not a cartel.

Its amazing isn't it that the City Matters group which is stacked with Supporter club members want change, as do some poster on here. We can't carry on the way we are regarding Away tickets, something has to give.

Well I'll tell you what sacrifice some of your fuckin tickets which you cream off, everyone else has to move on and accept this shit you've agreed too yet your nice stash of tickets are safe.

Fuckin hypocrites.

Exactly. I've made the point on here and on Twitter that I would be more accepting of "collect at destination" if supporters clubs weren't exempt from it, given that some (not all) SCs are amongst the biggest culprits for abusing the system.

I don't want to go all in and throw PB under a bus because I haven't been party to the discussions, and he isn't the only one on the panel, plus he's about the only one on that panel who doesn't seem to have gone into hiding on Twitter in the wake of this announcement. However, I must say I'm a bit disappointed with some of his comments defending supporters clubs for buying tickets and passing them onto others, whereas those fans independent of supporters clubs who might be doing the same are now being singled out. Also, when someone said to him on Twitter that a bus load of fans who might have a pub stop organised en route will now have to change their plans in case someone off said bus has been selected to collect their ticket, he tried to say it's no big inconvenience. Well if it's not, then let's see how the supporters clubs would like it then

I'm guessing if it's on twitter it's kids as us old fuckers have a life and don't know how to use such modern technology :+)

Only singles left in front couple of rows for lower tier for west ham at 22k points.

Blocks 118 and 119 had sold out 24 hours ago, and seats in the other lower blocks still remain, so I am guessing these two blocks had some sort of 'group booking'.

What's the upper tier looking like? I qualify at 3pm and hoping I haven't been fucked over by the 18-25 mob!

Does that rule still apply though? Clubs would have to pay us all the time in that case. Seems a bit unfair that Fulham for example have to pay for unsold seats at virtually every game they play

No, clubs order the tickets depending on how many they think they require. I would think City will order their full allocation most away games.
