Nope.Embarrassing fee if it’s anything under 30 mil as a bare minimum. Thought we’d got past selling players for pathetically low fees.

He’ll end up on loan somewhere.United want £30mill for Maguire. Let that sink in
But what they are going to pay Laporte we have got to be realistic on this occasion.it’s pretty pish mate. He’s at least a £60million defender
I'm sure you were saying something different a couple of weeks ago.£25m is ok considering his wages.
I am being realistic. They are going to pay him a lot more than we are paying him. No european club are really interested (and we should increase our valuation if there were). His chances of getting back into contention are slim.I'm sure you were saying something different a couple of weeks ago.
I'm on about the value. Sure you said he wasn't going anywhere either.I am being realistic. They are going to pay him a lot more than we are paying him. No european club are really interested (and we should increase our valuation if there were). His chances of getting back into contention are slim.
If we didn't sign Gvardiol.I'm on about the value. Sure you said he wasn't going anywhere either.
No, that wasn't it.If we didn't sign Gvardiol.
What was it then? Or are you on the wind up? Laporte is gone there is no way back. Not an ideal destination but he can still get back with a European club in a couple years time. No, that wasn't it.
No wind up, you've just changed your tune a lot on this transfer. Satisfactory outcome for all concerned probably. What was it then? Or are you on the wind up? Laporte is gone there is no way back. Not an ideal destination but he can still get back with a European club in a couple years time.
The Gvardiol signing changed matters. Initally I didn't think we really needed an extra CB but the way Pep is again changing the way we play then Laporte is the odd man out. He isn't the same player since coming back from injury. No wind up, you've just changed your tune a lot on this transfer. Satisfactory outcome for all concerned probably.
Polishing a turd of a fee.The Laporte transfer is an interesting one and one where I feel we won’t get value for him.
The value deal would be if United, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea, Newcastle, Spurs, PSG, Real Madrid decided they wanted him.
At that point we could get decent money for him, we probably have ones there who don’t and the ones that potentially we would not sell to.
We then have the next lot down in midtable teams or higher foreign teams and they will not pay above £30 million if that for a player with no sell on value and high wages.
It does not seem as if there is too many of those and potentially Laporte might not want to go.
Then we have Saudi and the wages on offer. He would be an amazing signing for a Saudi team. They are so far buying lots of players, but few defenders.
Laporte is quality, but he is not the exciting player they seem to be targeting. If they where to offer £25-30 million, with no reduction in wage (probably an increase), so no pay off which is the issue with Maguire etc.
We keep him, means we’re paying 5-6 million for a player who won’t play that much, could potentially have a negative effect on the squad and transfer fee goes down.
A loan with some Option/ obligation to buy, never seem to be that great when we do these.
So whilst it is easy to say he would cost us £60 million or worth £50 million etc. I think the scenario of us buying him and the value cannot be used in this instance.
£25 million with no pay off, might be our best option.
We got £30m for Mahrez. The Saudi's are going to pay him a lot more than us.Surely it must be bollocks…you couldn’t get a back up defender for £25M.
Much better if we keep him for the last 2 years of his contract …
