Messi has been poor by his standards this season despite the WC. It has to be Kev or Haaland if we win the treble. He has won enough.
I read an article about the voters before, and lots of them from other parts of the world simply didn't know anyone apart from Ronaldo and Messi. Even international captains had limited knowledge of anyone beyond the superstar names.Haaland could score 10 in the final and the award would still go to Messi.
These ‘popularity’ awards are just so predictable.
The whole thing is completely pathetic. It's like the vote for Best Film at the Oscars, only most of the people voting have only seen 2 or 3 of the films.I read an article about the voters before, and lots of them from other parts of the world simply didn't know anyone apart from Ronaldo and Messi. Obviously Haaland is getting there, but he's got 31m Instagram followers, compared to around 500m for the big two, so is still a long way off.
Absolutely. The whole thing is completely pathetic. It's like the vote for Best Film at the Oscars, only most of the people voting have only seen 2 or 3 of the films.
Ah I stand corrected. Not really, people can vote for both. Up to 5 players, in order of preference. All 5 can be City players should they so wish.
