Balotelli wasn't to bad yesterday in general play, in fact, he was quite good in the first half and was unlucky not to score, if he would have took it on his favoured foot, it was in. The problem is the collapse in the last month, now this cannot be blamed on Balotelli. Look for other players, at one point, i actually forgot Nasri was on the field in the second half and he slows the play to much. Silva's form hasn't helped. Forwards cannot be blamed for yesterday as the service was none existent. To me, it does seem the pressure has got to the players and maybe management and maybe from a higher source. Maybe it has to be put down as a learning curve to not change things, i dunno, but it cannot be rested on Balotelli's shoulders even tho he was petulant.
The point is he didn't score when he had a clear cut chance. He chose instead to try and flick a foot at it when a true world class striker would have got his foot round it and struck it firmly. I have more of a problem with him for that than for his poor challenges.
Yeah he was there in the box and credit it to him for that (genuine) but come on are you really happy with that casual flick of his left foot when he should have struck his right through it. Just been watching the Football League show and there are bread and butter Championship and League 1 players who are getting into positions and striking the ball. Not saying they have the talent that Balotelli has but they are doing the right things with the limited skill they have. Balotelli is hardly doing that at the moment.
