I am amazed at the number of people still defending Mario.

People constantly harping on about how he has potential etc.

He's not a child anymore. He should be showing us his potential already.

He's playing for the current champions of England. A team that is looking to make it's mark in Europe. A player of his apparent potential should see no greater opportunity than this to put his stamp on the football map.

I get the whole 'defend your own' mentality, however, if this guy was at Chelsea, United or Arsenal, he'd be labelled everything under the sun and laughing at how he's still not been sold (when in reality he probably would have been by their respective managers).

Potential he may have.
Likeliness to reach said potential? Not very.

A waste of talent.
Tbf I think its only a very small minority now, I had enough of him after Arsenal away last years although I thought he tuned a corner in the euros but from his performances and attitude this season I guess not.

Just as people are wrong to assume that people who don't want rid have that opinion because they are obsessed with his character, you are wrong to assume that it's because of a "defend your own" mentality.

While he remains at the club we can assume that RM thinks that it will work for us in the future.
This is absolutely, utterly and depressingly true.

You never know, one day he might be proven right.

It's possible although I'm fairly certain he won't, but regardless I worry about how many times he will be proven wrong while he waits to see if he will be proven right.

He's 22 not 17.
It's been the story of his career so far.

He's only 18......he's still young and will grow up.
He's only 19......he's still young and will grow up.
He's only 20......he's still young and will grow up.
He's only 21......he's still young and will grow up.
He's only 22......he's still young and will grow up.

They'll still be saying this about him when he's 25, and then the penny will finally drop.

he needs someone who can improve him as a footballer, i don't think mancini is that man. he's still young and will need a lot of PATIENCE. its sad because hes got the chance to play with all these players at city [yaya silva tevez agero] and he acts like he doesn't care. shame.

If someone is going to improve as anything, let alone a top class footballer, a substantial part of the input has to come from the person themselves. Mourinho couldn't do it for Mario, it seems a good few think Mancini can't do it. Not many left! There's 'Arry, of course, Magical 'Arry, as opposed to Comical Ali but are we gonna dump him on QPR?

Mario is one of those footballers for whom the word 'mercurial' was invented. But 'mercurial' doesn't do 'consistent' and even though 'mercurial' can score yer goals, how many 'mercurial' moments has Mario had that were instrumental in garnering three points for us, just as the team we were under the cosh? How many 'smash 'n grab' points did he get us last season?

Can't see him doin' the donkey work that'd put him at the top of the pile.

I'm glad he's making a stand against the fine. He has the right to and the facility is available.
There is no way the FA will overturn it though. To do so would mean admitting that he doesn't get fair treatment from the referees. It's very clear that he doesn't and a decent team of analysts could easily show the inconsistencies. But the FA have been embarrassed too often and will not allow any more bad press against the refs.

The club has to make a business and political decision about his future with the club and I would guess if someone makes a reasonable bid he will be sold. For all the wrong reasons.

Or until RM changes him for Tevez during games and we show exactly why Balotelli shouldn't be near the team at all.

Well, if getting subbed off in a game proves that someone should be near a team I guess we're lucky Txiki is around cause he's going to be pretty busy at the club.
