Sorry. Mad Mario on his day is as good as anyone. Trouble is he has problems staying on the pitch for 90 mins. Had his time with us and were grateful for seeing his ability.

Has had ample opportunity to develop as a player and a person, but sadly has failed and remains too imature to come back to the Etihad.

His main problem is that he only has 'his day' two or three times a season

Not good enough for us, wouldn't even get on our bench

Off the top of my head I can think of about 4 performances where he was actually excellent

- Stoke FA Cup Final
- United 1-6 (But so was everyone else)
- Villa at home where he scored a hat-trick IIRC
- Norwich at home

Can anyone think of any others?
QPR. The little pass to Aguero.

He had/has talent but he didn't take games by the scruff of the neck. Back then you thought maybe he could with time. Now I think we've seen the best of Balotelli.

Did we have any sell on clause with marios deal ?
If we did, we still won't get anything if Milan sell him for less than they pay for him.

Not true mate, a sell on % is normally regardless of the fee. So if we sign a player for 20 million, and the selling club insert a sell on of 20%, they'll take 20% of whatever we sell him for.

And to answer Bob's question, yes we did as far as I remember insert a sell on clause.

Lets hope he doesnt sign in time for Mondays game if he does sign. It would be typical Mario to score against, not celebrate and then later get sent off. He is great for the prem though as he keeps things very interesting and would be a good signing for them if he can keep things about his football on the pitch.

However, if he can't make it at his boyhood club Milan, then i question if he will ever make it anywhere.

Yeah 30 goals in 54 games for Milan, really rubbish!

Milan are looking to seriously reduce their wage bill with no European football this season and will listen to reasonable offers for most of their high earners.

Yes but with Mario it isnt about the goals he scores, its about all the other crap that comes with it. If he was scoring those goals and was not up to his usual antics they would no way consider selling him for 14 million.

Liverpool are in the market for a striker and I think £14 million is well worth a punt on a player of his undoubted ability. That's the same as Hull were supposedly prepared to pay for Welbeck and only £2 million more than they sold Shane Long to Saints for. Mario has the tools to be a truly world class player whereas the two I mentioned don't. Yes, you get all the other associated baggage that comes with Balotelli but on his day he can be unplayable.

I wouldn't want us to re-sign him but that's as much to do with the fact that we don't need him these days as it is to do with his off-pitch issues. I won't deny that I'm kind of glad that he isn't our problem anymore though and a parting of the ways was probably best for all parties when we sold him.

Re: Balotelli

Pellegrini seems to have the respect of all the players. I think that he is only one of a few managers who could tame Balotelli.

Re: Mario Set To Join Liverpool

He loves Milan and he loves City. Milan need him off their books this season and City could do with him causing issues at Liverpool. Ideally he goes to Liverpool injures Sturridge, Gerrard, Sterling and Skrtel in training and then gets sent off. Returns to Milan next summer for £2m. Done.

Will be like seeing a once loved grilfriend with another man; upsetting, but the comforting factor being that the man is a scruffy obnoxious tramp.

And knowing she is looking at you thinking, fuck, i messed that one up.
