Balotelli - What was he thinking?

Yet we still had a highly successful season, which shows you exactly how much these things actually matter.

i never said it was detrimental to the teams success but it does happen a bit too often, they can have it out in private sometimes

That's the thing, if there's no drawbacks to it, does it matter if it happens once a year or once a day? Really matter?

More than anything because the media get hold of it and make it out to be a huge thing and then we get another 20 page pointless thread on the evil media

he still had the balls to try it, something he now publicly berates balo for
I think what our Indian friend means is Mancini there is faced with 3 defenders and little else to do but try and back heel the ball goal-wards, which paid off. Balotelli had multiple options, and chose to do what he did. There is a big difference mate.

But that's the nature of the guy, we knew that when we signed him. Can't really punish him just for being himself.
Well he can, but just not the way he did it, which is the reason it has made the news outlets this morning. Pre-season is about getting yourself up to speed, and doing a failed spin on the ball which Bambi on ice would be proud of isn't it. I think after Balotelli's promise of more goals this season and for him to then do that, Mancini just had enough and wrongly went about his punishment for the kid. A bollocking in the dressing room from his manager and team mates would have got the message home.

This is manna from heaven for the idiots on Talksport, but at least they are paid to be negative about City.

It is also manna from heaven for our resident Mancini loathers.

Other players have complained about Mancini treating Balo differently, allegedly. Roberto had to act as other players were clearly unimpressed with Mario's antics. Maybe he could have done it differently but this was a high profile match and Balo's attitude was disrespectful and arrogant.

End of the day it will all be forgotten in 7 days when no doubt some other City related story will hit the airwaves.

Don't you just hate the use of the term "bust-up" within our media when City are involved? Even Milner looking frustrated at being subsituted last season was described as being a "bust-up".

He's a tosser end of, anyone who thinks otherwise is clearly deluded - friendly or not, I don't care - they should be professional at all times and treat the opposition with respect

Like signing Aguero, that should be enough.

Its only for the money though!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have to back up Mancini here.

It doesn't matter if it was a friendly, every game is serious because it is practise for the real thing, which is very serious indeed.

If he wouldn't do it in a competitive match he shouldn't be doing it in a friendly. This lack of seriousness is indicative of a general attitude that will affect competitive games.

eg. Balotelli's lack of discipline was a key factor in the UEFA Cup quarter final loss.

er, yes we can, because the whole point is he's meant to be growing up into a world class player, all I see is the immature adult piss arsing about.
