Manchester City target Mario Balotelli has slammed his birth parents for giving an interview to a newspaper in Brescia - the town where he grew up.

..The 19-year-old Internazionale striker was born in Palermo to Ghanian parents but was adopted by the Balotellis in Brescia when he was just two.

“I had already asked my birth parents to respect my privacy, just as my family always has done, but they didn’t listen to me,” Balotelli said in a statement released on his personal website.

“I have no other recourse than to repeat what I said two years ago: if I hadn’t become the football star Mario Balotelli, they wouldn’t have cared what happened to me.

“While I was on tour with Inter in America, a local newspaper published an interview with my birth parents. They said some incorrect and vague things which put my adoptive family in a bad light.

“This is something I cannot let pass, especially because my real family lives in Brescia - the family that has always loved and raised me. They are the only family who really know me as Mario.

“Perhaps in Brescia they don’t know that I stayed with my family uninterrupted for 16 years, the foster situation renewed every couple of years by the tribunal.

“Maybe they don’t know that I personally asked for adoption since the age of 13, but only managed to make it official in December 2008.”

Ballotelli is expected to make his Italian debut against the Ivory Coast at West Ham's Upton Park ground in East London on Tuesday night.

The more I read about this Kid the more I like him. He doesn't take any shit from anybody, racist bigots in the stands or even his own biological parents! All this talk about him being a trouble maker actually just seems to be him doing the right thing and not being afraid to speak his mind (apart from the gaff with the Milan shirt).

I have no doubt in my my mind this is already sorted with contracts signed, the lot! Why delay it...? I don't know but I don't think there is any reason to worry about other teams. Don't forget all sides were very vocal until last Monday (when talks were supposed to continue), then all of a sudden silence other than the agent to rubbish the amounts being talked about and the player last night refuting the story about his birth parents.

;)

Is this getting done tomorrow then tolmies?

I know Tolm is our best ITK but he can't be better than Mancini!

I think Mancini said both Milner and Balo on Thursday which makes me think they're both already done and both will be announced Thursday.

Tolm must know this but can't say for some reason (even though they're done)

Just a guess!

Pretty certain Mancini said they should be done by thursday.

is the game tonight on tv anywhere ? and is balo expected to start ?
It isn't on TV, but Prandelli (Italy coach) has said he plans to start Balotelli with Cassano upfront

I think there will be a stream online somewhere. At the moment it looks as if there will be one up at Iraq Goals http://iraqgoals.net/

If that is the case MON must feel stupid right now. he pretty much told the press its a done deal.

It was sarcasm aimed at justalittlemoreeffortade! As he has always said it's a smokescreen and that TH doesnt know a thing. Now I'm guessing the deal is done and TH is calling him out about it, fair play I say.

I kind of had a feeling that Balotelli's birth parents only come out with this now because he is turning into a star player and really didn't give a shit about him before but I didn't want to say anything. Interesting to see that Balotelli pretty much confirms my thoughts.

Mancini said there will be no talks in the transfers until Tuesday as he stated on sat night they were having two days off, no doubt Balotelli will sign Wednesday and Milner Thursday as they will then be returning back to their clubs after internationals. If I was Mancini though I'd think about a trip to London tonight.
Same, I think a City XI with that Gai Assulin have match against Southport tonight though too. But yeah, going to London for Balotelli and Milner is probably wise

Cheers almost a Clarkie there for me.
