We can not risk the situation like last season when we risked being dependent on Ireland and M.Johnson for creative firepower from midfield.

That's why I think it is crucial to not make us rely too much on Silva, who can be injury prone and inconsistent and need patience from the fans to adapt. Our forward players are perfect for our the 4-3-3 now, if we get Balotelli, so we just need one more midfielder to relieve the pressure on Silva and we're set.
Ireland, Robinho, Milner, and maybe M Johnson can all create, if that's what you mean?

How can you see looking through those tears
Don't you know you're worth your weight in gold
I can't believe that you're alone in here
Let me warm your hands against the cold
A close encounter with a hardhearted man
Who never gave half of what he got
Has made you wish you'd never been born
That's a shame cause you got the lot

Hey yeah you with the sad face
Come up to my place and live it up

you beside the dance floor
What do ya cry for let's live it up

If you smiled the walls would fall down
On all the people in this pickup joint
And if you laughed you'd level this town
Hey lonely girl that's just the point

Hey yeah you with the sad face
Come up to my place and live it up
you beside the dance floor
What do ya cry for let's live it up

Just answer me the question why
You stand alone by the phone in the corner and cry

How can you see looking through those tears
Don't you know you're worth your weight in gold
I can't believe that you're alone in here
Let me warm your hands against the cold
If you smiled the walls would fall down
On all the people in this pickup joint
but if you laughed you'd level this town
Hey lonely girl that's just the point

Hey yeah you with the sad face
Come up to my place and live it up
you beside the dance floor
What do ya cry for let's live it up

Let's live it up,
Live it up
Live it up
Hey yeah you
With the sad face
Come up to my place
Come up to my place baby

Would be pleased with Balotelli, but i still have no idea about the sort of formation Mancini is going to favour. Perhaps he will have a few formations in mind depending on the oposition.

I'd be happy to see some departures now though, mind.

Man City hopeful of signing striker Mario Balotelli

Manchester City are "hopeful" of completing a deal to sign 19-year-old Inter Milan striker Mario Balotelli.

BBC Sport understands that terms and a fee - reportedly around £24m - have yet to be agreed.

Balotelli, tipped to be the new star of the Italy national team, has scored 28 goals in 86 appearances for Inter since his debut in December 2007.

Inter president Massimo Moratti has already suggested he could be receptive to offers for the forward.

Premier League rivals Chelsea and Manchester United have also been linked with bids for Balotelli.

Should the young Italian opt to join City, he would become the Eastlands club's fifth summer signing following the arrivals of Aleksander Kolarov, David Silva, Yaya Toure and Jerome Boateng.

However, Balotelli's agent, Mino Raiola, has insisted it is not a foregone conclusion.

"Balotelli hasn't signed anything with Manchester City and I doubt that anything will be agreed in the next few days," Raiola said on Monday.

Earlier on Monday, City boss Roberto Mancini told Italian daily La Stampa: "I was the first to believe in him and I'm convinced about what he can give.

"Mario has two qualities that suit us: his talent and his age, because I want people able to build a cycle at Manchester City.

"That said we return to the problem of valuation that has to be just. I like the player and at certain conditions. That's all.

"I think that in a couple of days certain situations will be clearer, but I can't guarantee in what way."

Balotelli is set to travel with European champions Inter to play pre-season friendlies in the United States, where one of the opponents will be his potential new employers City.

Ireland had a series of injuies last season, most notably the heart scare and we didn't rely on him at all as he wa only used sparingly.

M.Johnson was injured for the whole season.

I meant that we relied on those two to be our main men in attacking midfield for the season, but it backfired big time and at the end of the day, we had pretty much only 2 midfielders, DJ and Barry, the whole season, and that was the main reason we didn't make the CL.

-- Tue Jul 27, 2010 1:36 pm --

If you count on any of those to be in our squad yes, but so far I'm talking about the current situation with Barry, DJ, Yaya, Silva and Vieira. We lack one more man who can play the CM/AM role in the 4-3-3.

LOL this deal is going backwards if you believe what you read. It was all done a couple of days ago, then nearly done, now hopeful.

Give it a couple of days and we won't have talked to Inter!

You will be amazed how good Yayas vision is! he can pass the ball forward.

the only thing that worries me is that the boy is only 19 with such a big transfer fee on his shoulders, i hope the pressure doesn't get to him

i dont get the flapping from everyone

Agent Raiola continues to tell the Italian press that a deal has not been signed, but 'SuperMario' intends to do so, and the deal is there "in principle". He also told Gazzetta dello Sport the player has already had his leaving party.

his agent says a deal is agreed, and the player just needs to sign the contract.

is he that good or we paying over for him
He's 19 and he has almost 30 goals for the European champions over the last two seasons, baring in mind at the start of last year he was only just 18.

PS he's already one of the best allround strikers in the world, he can beat his man like Robinho, he's as strong as Heskey, he can finish like Drogba, and he's as good in the air as Crouch.

I think the question should be. Will he be that good ?

we have paid for the potential, same as united did with Rooney. Its a gamble that he will be great. He already has a head start on Rooney though.
