lets just walk away from this transfer and go and get an other striker

Ah, I hope you are being sarcastic. If you aren't, all I can do is shake my head at that comment. Mario could very well be one of the elite strikers in the world in just a couple of years time and Roberto will certainly get the best out of him due to their relationship. With all the time they have put into this transfer, and the comment Roberto has made about this deal, you do not just walk away.

Dunno if this has been posted but...

The saga regarding Inter striker Mario Balotelli's proposed move to Manchester City continues as his agent Mino Raiola has suggested he is aiming to strike a deal by the summer transfer deadline.

The Citizens have been linked with a big-money move for the talented youngster all summer but a deal has yet to be finalised. 'Super Mario' earned his first call-up to the senior Italian national side and is expected to start for the Azzurri in their friendly against Ivory Coast on August 10.

"At the moment I can exclude this, because there are negotiations ongoing," he was quoted as saying by AGI/ITALPRESS when asked whether the teenager would remain with the Nerazzurri for the foreseeable future.

"I'm working, until the end of August there is still time. We are working towards an agreement between the two parties."

MEN suggest that the official package for Balos salary etc has been finalised, but its City still haggling ref the actual Transfer Fee with Milan !!
This shit never ends.

First it's Inter, then Raiola, then Inter, then Raiola. This is about the seventh or eighth time that the supposed hold up has shifted between the club and the agent.

Spuds this weekend. Balotelli will be available from Wednesday after the Italy match. Get this done by then, he'll have no time at all to prepare.

Good on us too. A few posts back someone said about why are haggling over this when we blew all that dough on RSC. Whilst I know what the poster meant, that is exactly why we aren't being held to ransom anymore, and for future credibility in the market I think its a good thing. At the end of the day Balotelli has made his bed at Inter, there is no way he can play for them again, therefore if its 'just' a few million we're haggling over, my guess is that Inter will be the ones who have to buckle, and we won't be seen as mugs who pay massive fees willy nilly. My respect for Mancini and the whole management set up, (bar fucking mr potato head), grows on a daily basis, it feels well and truly professional right now, something i've never noticed before anyway.

If the difference is 4 million, why cant we compromise
and pay 3/4s of that!! FFS 3 or 4 million just pay the bastard fee rather than being picky and delaying it for weeks on end!!

Personally i cant see this deal going through

What are you basing that on?

There's no way this isn't going to happen, in my opinion. Balotelli has nowhere else to go, Benitez will want some cash to bring in his own players, Mancini wants Balotelli, both clubs and agent have spent ages working on the deal, no-one will want that time to be wasted.

Purely the time scale... Makes me think somethings not going smoothly
Its not like buying a bag of chips mate, or for a more realistic comparison, buying Johnson from Middlesbrough. We're talking about a club of Inter's stature, who are selling their most prized asset. They will want a replacement in line, so they may be doing that in the background so's not to sell themselves short. Players like that have image rights, which wrangling over them takes time. This is bigger than the Robinho deal in my eyes, much bigger. Its a complexed, massive and time consuming deal which I am 100% certain will be wrapped up and confirmed by the Spuds game. Itss the kind of deal that Cook and Khaldoon will be toasting too if it ccomes off, purely because of what it means for the club and for the hard graft which is on going.

Totally agree. Have felt that for a couple of weeks now.

Mancini and Vieira talking about it, Inter players talking about it, Mario's dad talking about it, Roberto fucking Baggio talking about it... It's happening, just waiting for the stars to align (which they do with the Italian friendly in London).

Signing him so close to the Spurs game will also (possibly inadvertently) take some pressure off him as he will be unlikely to play I would imagine. Ease him in gently!

agreed pal we are in the driving seat with this deal it does'nt matter when it gets done as long as it is at our price balotelli will be used as an impact sub next season he'll need a season over here to get adjusted then he will be ready to take the league by storm

The longer this goes on the more likely that someone else will come in for him. With him being in London over the next few days who's to say Chelsea won't send in their mob to try and snap him up.
I only said it's only a few million we are haggling over because this kid is a superstar in the making.

The insecure on here like to make out Chelsea are skinters, I don't think they are though. If one club could step in and snatch him, its is Chelsea. The twats would probably think it was some kind of revenge for the way we snatched Robinho from them, the fucks.

I have a feeling this all but signed and sealed and is merely pending Mario getting through the Italy game unscathed.

Hopefully Mancini is our ace card and him and Mario have an agreement.

I've been fine with this deal up until this weekend but now I'm starting to get nervous with the friendly tomorrow and Mario being in London etc

Can I say the immortal lines of 'typical city' if we manage to balls up the signing of a future World Player of the Year...

The deal is on the rocks, as The Football Spy show on Youtube, by the Daily Mirror says we will pay£65k a week, but he wants £180k a week plus image rights. I've put the clip below, the Balotelli bit starts at 25 secs in. And before you all start and say it's bullshit, I'll give you two good reasons why it is 100% accurate:

1. Youtube........d'uh
2. The Daily Mirror.

Oh, and 3. It was only 4 days ago.
