Balotelli

I'll be honest, I do like him. But where is this myth coming from that he'll be one of the worlds best players in a few years? He's not even shown potential to be worlds best. Messi and Ronaldo were streets ahead of him at his age. He's shown potential to be a good/dangerous forward, nothing more. I'll happily hold my hands up if he does become one of the best, but for me, he's just a good player who's vastly inconsistent, doesn't show the desire or determination enough - that could be said for a few or our players if I'm being totally honest.
I could say the same for Sergio.

In fact, Sergio has had just as many shocking all-around performances as any of our strikers.

BUT, he is the flavour of the month, and the new signing so no one will say anything.

He's missed more sitters and stricken more shit shots than anyone. Can you imagine the outrage if it was Balotelli?
Don't get me wrong about Sergio, I've said to a few mates his all round play has been a bit hit and miss all season, but he shows a lot of desire in comparison to Mario. Which for me sets the two apart.

I like Mario, I think he's very good on his day, I'm just struggling to see the world class potential that most people think he has.
And how does he show desire compared to Mario?

Lets face it, we could point at most players and say they've shown a lack of desire at some point (Swansea etc)... We need to have a desire 'benchmark' - say, Zaba / Komps / Micah / Joe being 10, Tevez being zero. Balo, Kun and Edin have all hovered around the 7's for much of this season, probably due to rotation.

He has a really annoying habit of touching his nose when he feels uncomfortable, just watch him next game, does it all the ime which is worrying as he obviously isn't as comfortable as we might think...?!

Balotelli is far too easy to mark out of the game, his goals this season have been from the spot or mostly tap ins
One of the stupidest things I've read. Name for me a striker that doesn't score mostly (or a high percentage) of tap-ins.

how many 25 yarders or chipping the goalie after a mazy run through the defence goals has he scored?
He's scored several long shots for us. Last year though. I think 1 or 2.

Mazy run? He's not Messi mate.

One of the stupidest things you've ever read? Why can't most folk on here be reasonably civil without resorting to embarrassing over exaggerations?
Rooney and Van Persie seem to have scored a few belters and the standard of goal they both score is way above most of what Mario has scored for us.

The last time I looked a goal was a goal however it went in. If you want to enthuse over Shrek, do it elsewhere please. Van Persie? He'll probably be a Blue next season. Either way, both are older / more experienced than Mario. Give him time - He is the real deal.

I criticise Balotelli and I'm accused of racism, despite Yaya being my favourite City player closely followed by VK.

Those who are vigorously defending Balotelli have a definite agenda, and I'm looking at you didactic and jumanji.

He's a complete liability pure and simple, there is no other way to dress this up. He costs us in more games than he helps us. He should not be in the team at the moment.

Anyone who defends him is doing so without taking the reality of the situation into account.

now your really trying, this is the stupidest thing i`ve ever read on here.

rooney is what 26, van persie 28 at a guess. balotelli is nowhere near the finished article he may never be, but like to see him become a great here hopefully.

in the end we have a manager who believe if he stops believing he`ll get rid.
