Right. So singing about something is ok as long as you don't have a banner?? CAPITAL LETTERS.

Millions have died in wars, how many have died in munich? to even put them on the same level is stupid as fuck. You just love the wind up.

No wind up here. Does the numbers who died matter? Are you trying to justify singing Munich because only a handful died?

wish the mods would just ban any Celtic/Rangers thread.
i'm not getting into an arguement with fellow Blues,on a City forum.

The Fenians, both the Fenian Brotherhood and Irish Republican Brotherhood (IRB), were fraternal organisations dedicated to the establishment of an independent Irish Republic in the 19th and early 20th century. The name "Fenians" was first applied by John O'Mahony to the members of the Irish republican group which he founded in America in 1858.[1] O'Mahony, who was a Celtic scholar, named the American wing of the movement after the Fianna.[2][3][4][5] In Gaelic Ireland these were warrior bands of young men who lived apart from society and could be called upon in times of war.

Why is it so offensive?

It's al got to do with usage. 'Fenian' is a derogatory term for a Catholic of Irish descent in Western Scotland. It's a bit like asking why is 'Paki' a slur when it's short for Pakistani.
I'm tired, got a flight to catch to Birmingham in the morning, that's my last word on it, good night.

Ahhh right, so I wonder how many of these that get offended by 'fenian' actually go to church.

For the last time, I didn't call ANYONE a Fenian bastard, I wrote it on that post to show up that it had been used previously on this topic and was using to highlight how abusive these threads become. Stop being sensitive where there's no need.
Some taigs have no sense of humour.

Sorry T, couldn't resist. I know my Irish history and would never use that word nor fenian in a nasty way.
I was married to a NI prod and was horrified at the sectarian diatribe so studied to find out why. Shocking isn't the word

In no way shape or form have I justified those banners. I am saying that to stop them goes against what these people fought for.

Secondly if an Indian is called a "paki" then they cant be offended? As that's what you are implying.

Not at all. Read my response to your earlier post.

I don't see how someone can sing Munich and then have a go at these banners that's all. Sorry for thinking mocking death has different acceptance levels.
