Is it not obvious what happens regards fans that don't have the required amount of points but have been promised a ticket via a supporters club?

Some I assume don't give a toss about their allocation the club gives them.

They'll have lots and lots of fans that have been going with the supporters club for years, most of which will probably have the level of points needed. Of those fans, some will have no intention of going to Barcelona but their loyalty points will still be used in order to obtain a ticket that'll then be distributed to another member of the club who is wanting to go but doesn't have the points.

Simples really

Not true.
Supporters clubs are allocated tickets according to the requests they make...loyalty points have no bearing.
There is no check to see if the local branch members have the required points
This is a fact...The OSC rules allow each supporters club to determine how it distributes tickets.
There may well be branches that members have enough points - so your point above is valid in such cases, however there are branches that will get tickets and no one has the points!
I think supporters branches are great and do a brilliant job....just thnk that on the 1 or 2 oversubscribed games each year tickets should strictly be given on a points basis.

How does a supporters club fill 1,2 or 3 coaches for games then?

In some cases the supporters club doesn't give a toss how many they get given via their official application. I think it's a bit naive to think otherwise.

If you go and you end up in a bar or area where there's a large supporters clubs presence, just ask a few of the pissed up blues how many loyalty points they have. I bet you'll have a different opinion then.

I travel independently and have enough points for the majority of games so it doesn't effect me, however were the hottest ticket in town and I don't have an issue if other blues using their noggin to obtain a ticket.

I know a bloke I work with where in the last 4 seasons, the only games he has been to are Ajax away and he's got a ticket for barca. Desperate to go and he won't care how he obtains his ticket.

Read a lot of people understandly unhappy about people getting tickets on other people cards.
My point here is how are kids supposed to catch up points and qualify with the rest who have been going for years , this is one thing I think the loyalty system dosn't work fairly.
I got my ticket today on 9270 , my son who has around half that would of never of got a ticket as its impossible for him to generate that many points , although hes been going to games since 2 and a sc holder for last 5 yrs. Luckily my mate let him use his card and ive no shame in doing this as I have always promised him a big euro away game.
I think a fairer way would be a point system which involed age/points to average it out as a 70 year old city fan whos been going all his life is no more loyal than a 14 yr old going all his life , and there is no way that he can possibly catch someone up on 12000 points.

good luck to the rest of you hunting tickets.

err...yes he is, cos your 14 year old is barely out of his nappies, already gets discounted tickets to be "enticed" to watch the mighty blues and hasn't done the hard yards SUPPORTING the team.

The 70 year old absolutely deserves to go ahead of your kid, if he wants a big away go to Moscow if weeknights ain't a problem or Swansea on NYD, that's a different country.

Hi Rachace
i know many city fans in supporters clubs up and down the country
i know how it works
there are plenty of supporters clubs who havent got enough members to fill a coach!
I spoke to the top man and i know OSC branches get tickets regardless of points, and its upto individual branches to distribute these as they want.
ive got enough points and got my tik 1st day
we have 3 tickets and need 3
3 of our lot will get tickets by 'using there noggin'
My point is simple - we have a loyalty point system and for to 1 or 2 oversubscribed games each year, tiks should be distributed strictly by points.
I wish there was enough tiks for everyone - we are all blues!

Mate, I've got no problem with you using your contacts to grab a ticket for your lad. That's how it goes and I'd do the same in your situation.

But to start claiming the moral high ground that he 'deserves' to go is a bunch of arse. There are thousands of us who kept this fucking club going back in the 80s and 90s who are still sweating on tickets. If we are doing some daft hierarchy of who 'deserves' to go your lad is down the list I am afraid.

I can't believe it's not sold out with there only being 50 tickets left yesterday or was it 150. Truth nobody knows till the sold out sign goes up!

I'm a teacher, and no way can get time off work to get to the match, should your 14 year old not be at school too that day?

I agree with you.

My original post was in response to the head scratching that was going on where some posters were struggling with the notion that fans could obtain tickets without having the required loyalty points.

As somebody pointed out, it's the same as knowing a mate who's not going but he'll/she'll let you use their points so that they can get a ticket.

Do you think that all osc branches rely soley on the allocation they receive via their application to the club?
