Barca v City Post Match Thread

There isn't enough real quality in the team to deliver Peps game plan. We still have the core of players that have failed before against Barcelona and are not up to whatever it is Pep is trying to do. The shape was OK for a while but so many unforced schoolboy howlers destroyed us. A big test for Stones and for me he looked worst than Lescott tonight.

Actually was a pretty great game from us until Bravo's red. We were well on top and looking likely to get a draw at least. Pep had it spot on tactically.

I cannot get over how we fuck ourselves so often. It feels every time we concede it's from idiotic individual mistakes and then at the other end of the pitch we are the opposite of clinical, missing multiple clear chances every game.

Shut up, yes you won 4-0 but it doesn't reflect the game... Could've been very very different had we had that bit of luck instead of you.
No I agree with him.

Complete lack of quality / composure from too many of our players. The fact that Barca were very poor, does not make us good.

Hate to say this but Spurs or Arsenal would have won this.

We better start raising our game in a lot of areas.

Be it finishing, defending or goalkeeping we need to get back to winning ways.

The Bravo incident was a fucking shambles and the team handled it like a bunch of wet behind the ears Sunday league part timers. We come up a cropper against Barcelona again. They may be one of the best teams in the world, but fuck me we will neve register a win over them in this competition if we don't give ourselves a chance and stop knee capping ourselves.

if we took 50% of our chances we'd be winning games like tonight and Everton, our finishing and decision making has been awful for a while, Barc proved tonight how to finish (Pen excluded).
Of course we made mistakes in defence, poor and misplaced passes in midfield which dropped us in it, but we have to start taking chances.

2 why the fook have we replaced Joe with that one sided clown Bravo?

This is a huge problem. He's made horrible mistakes in both of the biggest games he's played since coming (derby, today). If he's going to play like shit whenever he's needed City will be screwed.

2 decent sides we've played, Spuds and Barca. 6 conceded, they both missed pens as well, no goals scored.

Very good performance until the red, think we can take a lot of positives from that game.

It also shows how good we have to be against the very best. 1 mistake and punished, 3 mistakes and it's all over. Shame the focus will be on getting beat 4-0 rather than how we played up to the red.

Dress it up anyway you like as long as he keeps picking the same liabilities then nothing will change. Zero composure anywhere including the bench. Mistakes all over the place. This summers buys on the evidence so far are as bad as what went before.

Do you ever actually have anything good to say about our club?

Genuine question btw?

He didn't fuck up today, the players fucked up. His tactics were working 110% if it wasn't for Dinhos unlucky slip and bravos brainfart we could've won that game so stop talking shit.

Stones looks pretty on the ball but he's not that good at actually defending. Sterling is too inconsistent, he has his moments but he gives it away or does f all way too frequently. To be expected I guess with his age but we really need more quality in these type of games. Only players I'd say played ok were kdb and nolito, they gave it their all. Dinho is a solid player but one thing is city fans seem to ignore is he gives the ball away time and time again. Way too much.

To be honest the players have fucked up in the last four games. Too many missed chances and errors. The tactics are fine, whether we have the players to carry them out properly is very debatable currently.

The saving grace today is Celtic lost to BMG granted a draw would have been better. We need to get back on form in the CL, not that we aren't mind. We had more shots and shots on target before the red card. I would have rather taken the 2nd goal than go down to 10 men.

We played well, even when a man down we created a few chances. We also need to have better boots and train on slippy ice. Gutted that the score went to 4-0 but at least we went toe to toe.
Not sure I follow? I would be better for us if Celtic beat BMG, they are a bigger threat for second.

Just when I thought you were the biggest clown in the world you went and proved it with this post.

Bravo is an accident waiting to happen and we look so porous defensively but is so annoying is the amount of clear cut chances we dont take, 3-4 excellent chances thrown away, infuriating

A good performance undone by individual mistakes. Errors against the best player in the world usually receive maximum punishment.

Not taking chances didn't help either - never thought I'd see us ahead on the attempts count at the Nou Camp.

We were in no way outclassed.

Still no more worried about the return game than I was before tonight, if anything maybe even a bit more confident, as weird as it sounds.

A slip and a red card decided the result... we didn't play bad for me and anyone saying we were outplayed to the tune of a 4-0 loss just needs to calm down, just feels like luck is against us recently.

Agree with him on the whole. We may have looked the better team before Bravo's red card but it counted for fuck all as we hadn't scored and we were 1-0 down after 60 minutes when it happened. A redundant point when we get spanked 4-0.
