But Ryan Air stick on a bus to take you to the City (nearly as long as the flight)

Just booked a weeks all inclusive for £385 in Calella Sunday - Sunday.
It's about half an hour from Girona airport and then another 45 minutes from Calella to the Nou Camp.

Genius call on the all-inc mate , fuck it that's what l'm doing .

Who have you booked with ?

Anyone looking for a really good hotel, obviously at a price, try the Princesa Gran Sofia which is a 5*. Stayed there last time we played them in 2009.
5 minutes walk from the Nou Camp, and was an absolute pleasure to stay there. Would recommend to all willing to pay the price. I'm already booked on and can't wait, roll on March!

I'm in this one!!!
Really nice hotel, there's three of us in there. Hopefully there's a few blues in with us!

It looks lovely......taking Mrs Kinky so needs to!

There are plenty of cheap and comfortable hotels around town. We caught the train out to Nou Camp for Barca v Valencia. It just so happened that Messi scored 4 goals that night. The day before we did the stadium tour, and as the game was already officially a sellout, we were told to go to the Barca shop near the centre of town. They were selling tickets for the game and we bought a pair virtually on the half way line. Messi was warming up right in front of us (photo opportunity!).

The stadium itself is quite old and it looked like you would get nose bleed at the very top. I can see why they are considering moving. As for the city itself there is of course the famous architecture of Gaudi which is definitely worth seeing. The other observation was that it has a lovely climate and the locals all go into town on Friday and Saturday nights. For the younger set there are nightclubs that stay open all night along the beachfront.

All up a great place to visit!

For those of us flying to Girona, does ryanair always have BArcelona Buses waiting no matter what time the flight is? I've heard people mention this but can't see anything online, and would have thought that ryanair might mention it on their website or something? Or give a timetable or some sort of idea as to how many buses will be on

The link below may help:

Cheers mate. I actually saw that but the may in this bit worried me 'Check the time of arrival of you flight. It may coincide with the departure of the Barcelona Bus.'

But this was just because I'd missed this bit before 'For those travelling on flights with other airlines (BMI, Cityflyer, FlyGlobespan, Iberia, Jetair, Monarch, Thomas Cook, Wizz Air):'

Errm, I'd check that this information is still valid folks, The document is at least 4 years old because FlyGlobespan's last flight was at the end of 2009. BMI was absorbed into British Airways over a year ago too.

Found this place when I was on a stag do there. All Manchester band memorabilia on the walls and music on. Only a small place but well worth a visit

Manchester Gótico, calle Milans, 5, 08002 Barcelona · Manchester Raval · calle Valdonzella, 40, 08001 Barcelona.

Usually plenty of cheap apartments rented out in the Gothic Quarter (El Barri Gotic) just off Las Ramblas.

And just in case anyone didn't get the message: WATCH OUT FOR PICKPOCKETS!!

3 or 4 years ago a group of about 20 of us went on a stag weekend in Barcelona, and 6 got pickpocketed on the first night, and another the second night, while one got beaten up and robbed of everything (wallet, phone, watch) - admittedly, he was sat half unconscious on the beach at about 3am, so probably deserved it....(and he was a Boro fan, so what would you expect). In our experience, they targeted anyone wearing a football shirt - a couple of young lads with Barca shirts on come up and put their arms round you and start talking quite knowledgeably about your team ....then the wallet's gone and so are they, into the alleys!

Its a great City, and for good bars/restaurants i would recommend the el born area its left off Ramblas (if heading down toward the port).Bit bmore bohemian atmosphere.

Been quite lucky with this one, got a mate who's living in Barca for a year, so have sorted a place to stay with him, granted he's a red but I'm sure he'll be able to help us out with stuff to do, going the Monday to the Thurs, proper looking forward to it
