Barcelona Information Thread

I lived there for 5 years and was there in August again.

Basic info.

Monarch and Easyjet fly directly to Barcelona's airport, El Prat. You can take the Aerobus into the centre, or train. Girona and Reus are cities 1hr outside Barcelona.

You can use airbnb.com to try to find private flats that are rented out. Also loquo.com might have some.

The centre of the city is considered Pl Catalunya/La Rambla. Good areas to stay in, Barceloneta, El Born, near the Ramblas, Gracia, El Raval. Though the closer to La Rambla you get, the dodgier at night.

Camp Nou is on the green line (Les Corts)or blue line( Badal or Collblanc) not that close to nightlife or the centre. Just follow the fans when exiting the metro and you'll find the stadium.

Any questions, ask away.

Also for meeting up on the Ramblas. Plaça Reial has many restaurants, clubs and palm trees, a fountain and Gaudi designed lamp posts.

A popular pub for away support, Paddy Flaherty's. It has it's own plaza and outdoor seating and a lot of room inside and tv inside. Typical Irish pub (abroad) food and drink.

has anyone used the official thomas cook trip previously?? are they really strict if the season ticket used doesnt meet the points criteria??

Anyone still looking? Monarch fly from Manchester to Barcelona Morning of the game and fly back on the Thursday is £250

And for those who have never been, Barcelona is a friendly city and fans will not be hostile to City fans

Yes mate, they don't process your booking til you qualify.

If anybody should be driving (I know it`s unlikely as everyone wants a beer) park your car up early in the day near Barca Polo Club. If you park roadside make sure your facing the correct way for the getaway. Then take the bus on Ave Diagonal into the town centre for the day. Don`t even consider trying to park on the evening of the game it`s chaos.

mate booked our hotel last night, here it is...
