Barcelona Information Thread

I stayed in a hotel at the end of las ramblas in placa de catalunya its changed its name and is now a h10 hotel so dont know what its like but its a great place to stay as the square is where the bus stop for the airport is plus the starting point for the tourist buses which are a great way to see the city. Great city to visit worst thing about it is the pick pockets etc left my mobile on a table in a cafe and caught one of them trying to rob it while her friends tried to distract us. Also get yourself down to the port and try the seafood its fantastic.

to get to the ground from the centre (placa de catalunya at the top end of las ramblas) take the L3 metro to les corts(the line is the one heading for zona universitaria), then its about a 5 min walk to the ground. metro is cheap as chips but does get a bit crowded on match days.

I always stick my wallet down the front of my pants and keep a few euros in my pocket. Secure as fuck and impresses the ladies. One incident that happened on a train in Italy was one bloke starts pulling a a case at one end of a carriage and waits for a response from the owner which usually means the owner will get up shout and move toward him at that point a second bloke will come from the other direction and steal hand luggage, electronics etc left at the seat and then they'll both exit the train.

been to barca a few times in the last couple of years, on las ramblas, keep your wallet in front pocket with your hand on it if you are worried, try to look like you know where you are going and dont enter into conversation with the people trying to get you into restaurants etc. I never had a problem in the 3/4 weeks i was there but do know of people who have. If you look blatantly like a tourist you will get targeted, wearing my city shirt i was able to wander las ramblas and even go to a barca game with no problems at all. It may be different as we will be there en mass bu taking a few precautions you will be fine. Barcelona is an amazing city enjoy it.

I have been 4 times and never had any issues with pickpockets etc

Lovely city but not sure this trip will be for sight seeing for the majority

Was there 2 years ago on stag do at exactly the same dates as the match. Weather in the daytime was around 16 degrees but cold at night.

2 of our group of 12 got pickpocketed. One on Ramblas (He didnt have a wallet but someone mamaged to get the wad of notes he had in his front pocket without him noticing. The other was walking back to the hotel.

It gets a bit moody at night, especially around Ramblas bars and I would recommend that you get a taxi back to the hotel if any distance.

Some restaurants/Bars see you coming. We paid 11 euo in one for a large beer (Prob close on 2 pints in the glass).

Other than that its a nice place.

For those of us flying to Girona, does ryanair always have BArcelona Buses waiting no matter what time the flight is? I've heard people mention this but can't see anything online, and would have thought that ryanair might mention it on their website or something? Or give a timetable or some sort of idea as to how many buses will be on

The link below may help:

Cheers mate. I actually saw that but the may in this bit worried me 'Check the time of arrival of you flight. It may coincide with the departure of the Barcelona Bus.'

But this was just because I'd missed this bit before 'For those travelling on flights with other airlines (BMI, Cityflyer, FlyGlobespan, Iberia, Jetair, Monarch, Thomas Cook, Wizz Air):'

Great place to go to loved it,went to the CL semi final earlier this year between Barca n Bayern

Has anyone booked on t cook trips previously and then not met ticket criteria.I have 4000/5000 points and i want to know if you don't meet criteria do they simply refund your money. I normally make own arrangements as much cheaper and more of an adventure but taking youngest son this time and the 1 nighter seems pretty good value at mo all things considered, cheers in advance
