just think Kompany had a bad day at the office. Demichelis did ok again, bit unfair all the criticism he gets imo. Kompany would get into most teams in Europe and has had another good season for City despite the injuries.
Watch you don't try too hard, you might become convincing.

Re: Sunderland pre match thread

I take it the paper tickets from the original game are still active? Had family up from down south for the original that cant make the fixture now so i'm taking somebody else now.

Yes,start him,a 60% Aguero is better than a 100% Dzeko who contributes nothing

Thank fuck Aguero was fit for the derby. We'd have been fucked if we'd had to rely on that, contributes nothing, **** Dzeko.

I see the zoo has an escapee.

Re: Sunderland pre match thread

Surely Jovetic gets a start for this one, be crackers not to.

Re: Sunderland pre match thread

Sunderland's run in:

Manchester City (A)
Chelsea (H)
Cardiff (H)
Manchester United (A)
West Brom (H)
Swansea (H)

Even if they beat Cardiff and close the gap, it may be too late if they haven't taken a win in their next two games. For that reason, I think they might be more inclined to attack rather than defend against us.

In the circumstances I agree except drop Navas and Edin and play Aguero and Negrado up front.

Both Dzeko and Navas have been impact players this season and should be on the bench and brought on in tandem for the last 20-25 minutes.

Chelsea is away isn't it?

Re: Sunderland pre match thread

Hart, Zabba, Komp, Demich, Kolorov, Ferny, Garcia, Milner, Silva, Jovetic, Aguero

Need to freshen things up, give Negredo 30mins as well, and Dzeko some time to keep his confidence up. He worked hard against Liverpool so I would rest him in this one initially. We can't afford to rest Silva though so give him a start and take him off if we get in a comfortable position. We need our squad on form for the two away games so it is crucial to give Aguero, Negredo and Jovetic time in the home games to build that up.

Re: Sunderland pre match thread

I'm just a little bit worried about this game. We've got Kompany and Silva currently having to play with injuries so he could potentially rest them, Yaya out, Aguero not fit to start yet. That's most of the spine of the team. Hopefully we should still have enough, we always look like we should have on paper, but I'm not going to get complacent after some of the performances in the cup with our weakened team.

This is a game Sunderland really have to take something from. It will be a game we need our best players to perform in from kick off til the end. We need the likes of Fernandinho, Silva, Milner to keep the ball in midfield and to keep the pressure on. I think we can cope without Kompany, Demichelis has led the line quite well in his absence at times. Sunderland will come at us though and we need to try and give those returning from injury game time with two tough away fixtures coming up where they will need to be fit. Nasri has been under performing of late so I would rest him and give Jovetic or Navas a start in his place.
