Barry is still good enough

barry is good enough for PL when his is in form, but don't forget that it took whole season for him to regain his old form after injury, but when he is in good form i don't think that he is good enough to play against teams like barsa or madrid or munich. against this team you need extra-class midfielder like alonso, like martinez, like busquets and khedira. that's why i think that in a team like manchester city, which is built to be n1 in europe, gareth barry should be on the bench and play 10-15 PL games. look at barcelona they have mascherano and song two one of the best deffensive midfielders on the bench when everyone is fit, bayern spent 30 million on martinez but gustavo is more prefered than him, real does same with modric. it was stupid decision from mancini to buy rodwell and garsia, with that money we could have bought a player with extra-class quality.

That is wrong. Gustavo lately seldom got playing time - only as a substitute. But Martinez was booked in the first leg against Juve.

barry is more often than solid as a rock. Nothing fancy but usually mistake free. This year he's had a few forgettable games but I still think he's an important player. I don't think he should play in the CL games next year. His lack of pace really hurts the team because most CL sides play for the counter and have great pace. But league games he can still bring it.

Barry is a top top pro and when it kicked off yesterday he was first in the faces of those rag bastards. Top bloke top pro and someone whom has been a credit to this club. He is seldom a poor performer typically a 7 keeps the ball moving seldom gives it away.

Alsas however i do feel that at the very top level especially in the CL he is good enough, not suggesting for one minute we should sell (think Garcia and Rodwell were bonkers signings - one yes maybe two no)

A Carrick type player to partner Yaya or someone whom can be more commanding in midfield when Yaya is pushed forward or is injured or whatever.

In a 4 2 3 1 which i think we all agree is our best formation whichever two of the three other midfield players whom would play in the 2 ie Barry - Rodwell - Garcia at very top level it is not good enough - its not creative nor is there anough legs or pace there.

Still think Barry is a yop player and it has been a pleasure to watch him

It's making me laugh - now we don't consider playing United at Old Trafford as playing at the top top level.

United and City play two different styles of football - rags rely less on midfield and look to getting the ball out wide - rags are and always be a 4 4 2.

City play a very different style of football one which is very prcise lots of keep ball and very technical and no matter how you cut it a two of Barry / Rodwell / Garcia aint good enough especially i Europe.

I guess i must be dreaming that we are 12 points behind the rags - there is a reason for it and when you take out Yaya we have sometimes struggled - when Yaya plays you can put any of the other 3 in with him and it works

As has been said he is a top player, pro and from what I have seen bloke as well.

Can't see him leaving and if anything a new contract but on lower wages will be his "golden handshake", can't see Barry giving up being part of our team to go somewhere else on lower wages anyway.

Yes he probably isn't good enough to play in the CL but he is more than capable of playing cup games and in the premier league as part of rotation.

I think it says it all when both Mancini and Capello use/used him as much as possible. Yet everyone apart from City fans slate him as much as possible. Firstly because they only watch MOTD and if anything it will only show any mistakes and secondly because they watched the game v Germany in 2006 where he was beaten by Ozil on the half way line, people seem to think a player who was half injured before the game started should have been able to catch a youngster like Ozil.
