Barry to Everton?

At a very quiet Everton training ground, there is no update on their bid for James McCarthy, but they are trying to push through a season-long loan deal for Manchester City's Garth Barry. From the BBC's Juliette Ferrington
I know he's on big wages but if they are interested it should not be a loan, how much had they offered for mcCarthy ...

Which means he will walk away on a free. So Everton get the last year of his contract at City for paying part of his wages. Not a good deal.

Exactly,if teams want our players its a transfer not a loan,of course the exception to that is the likes of rekik and so on...

I can't see a loan occurring because quite simply, it'd be a seriously stupid deal. He'd leave on a free next summer and we'd possibly be getting the ball rolling for Fellaini to join Manchester United. Essentially, we'd be weakening ourselves at a financial loss whilst strengthening two league rivals. Transfer or no deal.

Loaning players out in their last year of contract is a huge business. They wont pay his full wages, lets say they can pay 50-60% of his current wage what is about 50-60k/week.

It makes sense from Everton's point of view they dont want to buy a slow 31 year old players with a 2-3 year long contract but use him now and they see what he has to offer them.

But from City's side it makes no sense, we will pay a nice part of his wage to make Everton stronger, and when he comes back he will leave for free.

Dont know why didnt any team made a small offer for him, did he want way too big wages or what? Teams like WHU, Fulham, WBA etc.

Selling or loaning Barry would weaken our squad, ok he's not been in the squad for the first three games, but its a long season with many games. If we allow him to go to Everton this would allow them the release Fellaini and make serious money and strengthen united. Time to be smart and look after ourselves and no one else.

Never thought of it like that...
