BT continually bigging us up to create the 'favourites' narrative in the hope that we slip up to create the drama they crave.
That will never happen.Special mention for Eddie - hopefully the blue moaners will now shut up. His clean sheet stats are incredible. Class performance last last night.
Quiet as fuck on his performance thread.Special mention for Eddie - hopefully the blue moaners will now shut up. His clean sheet stats are incredible. Class performance last last night.
Absolute hypocrites as last night they were talking about how Munich would do us. Hargreaves actually said if Bayern score first then all bets are off. Funny how Inter went 1-0 up (3-0 on agg) we were told by BT that it was game over. Just hope that the likes of Zaba and Nedum are available for BT for both semi finals, don't want any rags, Owen, Hargreaves etc anywhere near the TVBT continually bigging us up to create the 'favourites' narrative in the hope that we slip up to create the drama they crave.
Exactly but the media seem to think that this was our fault - don’t give any credence to the fact that Bayern are a great team with great players - so should have chances. But no comments on the fact that over 2 legs they couldn’t score from open play because WE WERE TOO GOOD FOR THEM.Top Top Performance, if Haaland scores the pen that the first half would of been perfect.
I get we always want to dominate games, out score the opponent, have all of the ball, but we've seen year after year that's not what wins this competition, it's performances like these, real have been doing them for years.
We played against probably the best team in Europe this season other than us, 100+ goals, 8/8 in the competition before they met us (in a group that contains one of the other semi finalists) and we only conceded a goal because of a horrible pen rule/call.
They were always going to have some chances, that's just what happens against this level of opponent, it's about ensuring they don't have a lot of them, or the chances are hard, which I think for the most part we did do.
I'm more than happy when they are just neutral, as they are supposed to be.I didn't think BT were negative towards us either, I'm sure some people just sit there listening sometimes waiting to be offended by something.
A good referee does his job without fear or favour. This was a crucial quarter final match, with the home team being under pressure to perform & turn around an unlikely result. Of course this match was gonna be played in a cauldron like atmosphere.A good referee is almost 'invisible' during a match. Last night's ref was anything but imo.
Tuchel was understandably frustrated by Bayern's failure to score and reacted badly, but the ref couldn't wait (imo) to book him the first time, when a stern warning could have been given.
It's things like that that give the impression that the ref 'wants to be seen'. Personally, I thought he was over dramatic and self-important throughout the game.
All about opinions I suppose. It's in the past now.
