Bayern Munich v MCFC Post match Discussion thread

so glad we got de jong back, yaya and barry together are not good enough.

the groups not gone though, 2 wins against villereal could change things.

and finally....

CARLOS TEVEZ YOU ARE A FUCKING ****. NEVER EVER WEAR MY TEAMS SHIRT AGAIN.

Anyone coming back from game tonight who bumps into the team at the airport - give that dwarf **** some grief. Maybe chuck some duty free toblerones at his mush

My thoughts on Bayern.

Taken from my blog!

To start, I have to refer you all to the tagline of the Hitch-hiker's Guide to the Galaxy - DON'T PANIC.

Bayern Munich showed why they are feared across the world of football. Ribery and Kroos pulling the strings, with Gomez showing once again that he knows where the net is. A set-back, yes; a mistake, yes. But it's nothing we can't learn from.

Let's just get a bit of a reality check here.

It took United 6 years to fully establish themselves in Europe. Bayern have had 149 more Champions League games than us, while we have players in very important positions that have never step foot on this stage before (Barry).

A win against Villareal and we're back in it regardless of what happens between Napoli and Bayern. We're not going to fly through our very difficult group in our very first season as a Champions League team. We might be banging in the goals in England but European football is totally different.

In five years time, we'll be in this position again on this night and we'll be the team with the two goal lead. As much as we want it to happen soon, we're not going to be a danger to these huge European sides for at least half a decade.

We're new to this.

We can move on with a win against Blackburn on Saturday, regroup and start again. This is not the end of the Earth.

This this and this. Add to that this and tevez can burn.

How many players do we have to ship out before we get it right. The question has to be asked has Mancini got the management skills for the job? If he has he has to prove it and now. Make no mistake this is his last stand. We can not continue to have this kind of problem with players lining up to have a go at the Manager and undermining his authority.
I expect Dzeko to be upset I would not be happy if he strolled off laughing but his performance against Everton and tonight were very poor. Yes you can say he needs better service but don't act like a prat when you are having a mare.

Zabba looked mightily pissed off and was clearly avoiding eye contact with him whilst Tevez speaking animatedly to him. Think Zabba was unimpressed at the idiot's decision...
Exactly , Zab looked completely non-plussed by his histrionics.

I realise it's all about opinions but I can't believe I'm reading posts saying how well Barry played - played a large part in both Bayern goals
and is just too slow
2- 0 down Dzeko & Nasrii off -Dejong & Milner on
TRULY BIZARRE!

Damage limitation bringing on the subs, we were woefull, Tevez playing the spoiled brat, at least on the box Zabaleta gave him a mouthfull . Dzeko with no service was back to last seasons form.
Only good point I can take from this was the return of De Jong which stabilised the defence and stopped 2-0 turning into a rout.
Guess we need to return to last seasons formation and defensive mind set. It was brave of Mancini to state we would attack but parking the bus in front of goal and slugging out a 0-0 draw with Bayern would have suited me.
We still as a team have a lot to learn.

Could any other club but ours have their grand day out like this descend into such a farce? The old City will never truly die, we write headlines for media hacks all over the place.

Blackburn away can't come soon enough.

Does Guidetti have a recall option? I'm doubting it in which case Bunn has to take the giant step to fourth choice striker until January.

Tevez via interpreter: “Been professional during time here. Wanted to leave, family reasons. Keep trying to do my best.” @SkySportsCL #mcfc

Tevez's response speaks volumes. “I was top goal-scorer last season, I always act professionally so it is up to him.” #MCFC
