Bayern post match thread

Our squad is great for the Premier League, but we are absolutely miles away from winning the CL. Until we have world class players in most positions, we won't even come close. Yaya was a disgrace, but Nasri was disinterested, and we need a world class runner with the ball, otherwise its usless to try to play on the counter attack.

What is it with people picking on nasri, yaya etc
The problem is the manager. He picks the team the system we play, it's obvious against teams like this we do not play certain players in certain games and in certain systems. Against high intensity teams we cannot play nasri, yaya and silva in the same team.

Who would you rather play, Sherlock?

Lopez?

There is something missing in our DNA when it comes to the CL and after 3 seasons it's about time we found it. Starting with Roma.

Don't agree. Tonight was the classic CL game between two of the best teams in Europe. Both sides showed the capacity to prey on the others' weaknesses. I think we struggled tonight in specific areas (Sagna defensively, Edin on an attacking front) but overall it was what it was. These fine margins are what the top end is all about. Unless you get into the Real Madrid mind sight of having a rock star in every attacking position.

Pep had to make half a dozen tactical changes throughout the game, and we matched all of them.

Been a long time since i've felt that good about a defeat.

And I feel the opposite because there is a real sense it could have been a lot better with just a bit more self belief on our part. To do well in this competition we will need a lot more than a warm glow after a gallant defeat. This is our 4th season and we still turn up to the big games like country rubes in cheap shoes and perfume from Superdrug.

Honestly think it's getting silly now.
You can make all the excuses in the world but clubs on far small budgets have done better than us.
And clubs on similar budgets and stature such as PSG regular do better than us.
It's like we're cursed.

Some of the decision that take place at City really confuse me - Yaya for eg
Why every time were ever in a match where we are being dominated and everyone and their dog can see it's only a matter of time before we concede we do nothing to stop it
Why did we not attack Bayern in the 2nd half? Were a top team and yet we turned into Stoke or Sunderland. Just parked the bus.

Disappointed, pissed off and underwhelmed

Boateng, you ****!

We did OK, Fernandinho was immense after a bad 1st touch and it's telling that as soon as he started to struggle with cramp we looked vulnerable. We deserved the point. But to be truthful no more than that. We controlled large parts of the game but created few chances compared to their tally so something wasn't right.

We're still a notch or two away from beating the top teams in Europe and I think we probably should've gone with 2 up top as they sat back, Navas rarely got the chance to get behind them, but at the time I could see where Pellers selection was coming from.

But it's not that long ago that we were being beaten in the last minute against another bunch of arrogant reds each year...

But we got over that hurdle, and some. It's just that the CL hurdle is that much higher.

Disappointing but not the end of the world. We are improving but our luck is still definitely out. The number of bookings we get is almost laughable.

HUGE game on Sunday. The rest of the CL campaign can wait...

*gulp*

It's still fantastic to see us, deservedly, on that stage though. I still have to pinch myself that we are where we are, and we're still making progress.

Come on City.

Yep no belief. Like when Sagna got the ball, got no support and walked it out late on in their third. Reminded me of the 2-3 in Madrid, no belief then either.

I am very disappointed with City for that performance. I believe we have enough in our locker now not to be so inferior to any side in Europe. Very few of our players can take any credit from that. I am not sure if it was the game plan or as others have said a mental issue.

Lots of teams play high intensity, you cannot allow players to drop off against these teams.
PLAYERS HAVE TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY AT SOME STAGE!!

Do not put it all backt on the managers shoulders when players do not perform/earn there paycheck!

Put the effort in and we applaud you ,look as if you cant be bothered then expect the flack, in my opinoin only toure looked as though he was at half pace

Hard to disagree.

It was that bad we kept them out for 90 mins and lost only on a deflected goal coming off the back of Arsenal i didn't expect much anyway but I take a lot away from tonight some people need to chill.

It took me nearly 20 posts to find a Blue!
