Two fast clever wingers!

Remember our successful spell in 60s/70s = wingers.
Remember ALL successful Premiership Champions over the years = at least one decent winger. So who would you go for?

Lavezzi and Hazzard? Ribery and Robben?

Mancini doesn't believe in winger's - and even when he plays AJ it's in the wrong position/side..................................now what?
Left footed players are more of a threat on the right and right footers on the left.

Bollocks

You never saw Overmars on the right and Pires on the left or Giggs on the right and Beckham on the left or Ginola on the right and Gillespie on the left.

All this "they can cut inside onto their stronger foot to shoot" is an absolute myth. As a kid you're always told if you're a full back to show the winger inside cos there's more bodies in the middle than down the outside.

Johnson on the right hand side has had no affect whatsoever on a consistant basis which is why he's looked poor!!

The OP has a point here, i would personally like to see wingers at the club but as an earlier poster mentioned, the players we have now got us here so its the same players who could win us this league, come on city !

Completely agree that's why wingers should be able to use both feet Ribery assists were all made using his left foot.

Fast wingers on either side of a 1 man attack require a strong target man, considering Aguero is our best striker and Balotelli probably 2nd to him, neither has as good an eye for goal as Dzeko in the air. This would then involve an attacking 4 of:

---------Dzeko---------
Hazard---Silva---Lavezzi

Because if you put either Aguero or Balo in there, we'd soon be complaining that our strikers aren't good in the air
Balls don't have to be whipped in the air.

A good cross can also be played on the ground if your striker doesn't pose an aerial threat.

Lavezzi is the best but we will get jerked around by their owner.

Hazard and if possible Muniain would be a dream. Even though it isnt realistic under FFP.

Just remember that if you buy Lavezzi or Cavani from Napoli any napoli's fan will ate you, MC's fan, more than if you rape and kill their sisters. In this case for your own safety do not dare to be in 50km from San Paolo stadium and i will avoid also pizza restaurant own by italian
Just remember that if we buy them, someone on their end had to sell them. They are both under contract.

Good post. Also remember Aguero's crucial goal against Villarreal. For some reason people automatically assume width and wingers = lumping random balls into the box.

Width would add an extra dimension to the attacking play that we have been lacking away from home

Erm....the system we play now is successful 1 cup going for the premier and Europa...
Obviously there is a lot of room for improvement.

Our dogged pursuit of Alexis Sanchez and the fact that Bobby said that a winger would help Dzeko tells me that we will soon buy one.

Also, we don't need to change our system to accommodate a winger. When we've played teams like Everton that were very vigilant and intercepted our through balls in the box, a player that can beat a man on his own before laying the ball off to a striker in the box could be very useful.
